Rode today my 2014 FX 2.8. made it back to my town with 4% battery left.
I was very gentle with the throttle and had less than 1 km to my home.
at that point the bike all of a sudden dropped directly to 0% and shut down. had to push it uphill for about 30 minutes back home...

few points:
1. consider 5% to be empty tank. don't count on the last few percentages.
2. never ride on a busy road with about 5% left, you might find yourself, with no prior notice. standing in the middle of traffic with no way of moving.
3. if someone from Zero is reading this: try to program the power % to have some safety margin. so even if it shows 1-2% you'll still have an extra km or so. this is usually how car gauges are made.

It wasn't a good day.

Thanks for the tip!  I got my 2.8 home last week with 6% left; the bike felt very weak, but it still ran.  I charge the bike for at least 24 hours each time now, the BMS continues to balance the cells for a long time after the dash indicates 100% charge.

I have taken my '15 SR down to 00% once. It was at 2% when I pulled into my court and then went to 00% at the driveway but it kept running. It did start cutting power (I think below 20%, or maybe 10%?) near the end.

No its not accurate, which is hardly surprising, as there is no such thing as an accurate SoC gauge for any sort of battery at the moment to be honest, so personally I consider the last 10% of my battery to be a no go area.

I've only ran my SR down to 00% one time and it was still moving under its own power. Power was severely limited but I wasn't pushing which was fine by me. My display never read 1%, instead it jumped from 2% to 0% and then back up to 2% when I gained some back going down a hill.  Also, according to the dash, I still had 2.4 miles of range, even after riding for a couple miles at 0%.

When I stop to get food and come back to my bike it often has an extra bar on the display then when I parked it :/

I've ridden my 2015 SR down to 0% several times. I've also noticed that the fuel gauge drops from 2% or 3% to 0% suddenly. However, maybe Zero has done something different with the 2015's - even at 0% I still have full power and have been able to keep riding the last mile or two to get home.

On the other end of the gauge - I've noticed several times that after parking the bike (say at 94%), turning it off and returning to the bike a few hours later and turning it on - the gauge jumps back up to 96% or 98%. It's a magical recharge ;-)

Mine also does the magical key cycle recharge. I think the largest jump I've seen it do was from 89% back up to 100%.

A few weeks ago I came home with 0%! And the app said 7% left. So I think that the SOC meter is a bit pessimistic on the DS

On my 2014 S with PT, the SOC meter is perfectly accurate.  I once ran the battery pack down to 0% and just as it turned to 0, my bike stopped running. I only got the last 200 yards home by turning the bike off, waiting a minute then turning the ignition back on at which time it would run again. Upon doing that the battery would recover and get me another 50 yards uphill.  After doing this four or five times, I was able to reach my garage and plug the bike in.  It then took 15 hours to completely recharge the pack.

I have been trying to hit 100 miles on a charge on my 2013 FX 5.7. Riding solely for range, seldom going over 35 mph, and, keeping the amps below 20, I am consistently able to
hit 90. As I get closer to empty, I begin doing laps around an area with a known outlet. One time it died completely at 4% left, so, I was emboldened a bit, using that as empty.
The next time I went out, I allowed myself to do larger laps, and, it died at 6%. Both the gauge and app show empty at 19%, and, go to zero miles, so, Joe Average
shouldn't have any issues.  I am not sure about a "New" 2013 FX as I got mine with a few hundred miles and a few months on it. but, it has always charged to "full" showing
5.029 KW, and, 95%. If I turn the key on for a few seconds, then, back off, it will charge to 97% and 5.229. A third time will bring it to 100% and 5.336 KW. The extra 5% might
give me an extra mile, so, not something that I do often.

There is always a difference between my dash and app SOC. When I ride a few miles and turn the ignition off and on, the dash SOC tells me that the SOC is 100% again

Most of the time on my 2013 FX the SoC goes down a few percent after the ignition has been off for a few minutes and then turned back on. However, once in a while it will go up  a few percent. Electric Cowboy told me he thinks it has to do with what balancing is needed. I tend to agree.

You think that's inaccurate? My 2013 S will sometimes display 3 out of 11 bars and then they all instantly disappear and a few seconds later the bike quits cold turkey. The SoC on the mobile app isn't the most accurate either.

On all my previous electric scooters etc, Ive used a Cycle Analyst to measure the outgoing amp hours against the fully charged capacity. Allowing for losses during charging, its always been an accurate measure of whats really left in the pack and what you put back in. I think the Zero app allows you to see similiar info?
