Energica / Re: Peg Lowering Kit for SS9
« on: October 06, 2019, 06:11:21 AM »
I'm too old to play boy racer anymore. If I'm dragging a knee in the corner that means I've already fallen off the bike.  ;)

Energica / Peg Lowering Kit for SS9
« on: October 01, 2019, 04:31:04 AM »
I bought an SS9 and attempted an Iron Butt off the showroom floor. Unfortunately, a bad charge station at a critical point scuppered the attempt. On the short 300 miles I rode that day, a couple of things became apparent. First, I would like to move the pegs down and forward about 1.5 inches. Also the pegs themselves are short (outer 1/3 of foot hanging off) and too small in diameter (I like a flat pad). So, before I make my next attempt, does anyone know of a lowering kit that will fit the SS9?

Buy Sell Trade / SOLD!!! 9.9kw Diginow Charge Pan $2800
« on: July 27, 2019, 08:23:05 PM »
Brand new 9.9kw Diginow charge pan still in the bubble wrap. These units are no longer in production so this may be your last chance to get one. Comes with pan, 3 chargers mounted and wired and cooling fans. You will still need the controller and plug inlets (J-plug, Tesla, Meineke). Borh of which are still available from Brandon at Diginow. Turn your bike into a cross country traveling machine.
Shipping cost is the buyer's responsibility. I live in South Carolina and will deliver within a reasonable distance. The pan itself is 24"x12"x5" with a weight of 37lbs. The box it'll ship in is approx. 27"x18"x13" plus a couple of lbs for box and bubble wrap.
$2800

I was in Nassau this past week while on a cruise and really wished I could have found a way to smuggle my Zero onboard.  We took an excellent taxi tour but the whole time I was thinking "if I was on my bike right now I would..." There are actually some nice roads to explore and roundabouts are always fun. What a great place to ride except for the constant cleaning to keep salt air corrosion at bay.

Maybe SuperSoco can teach Zero how to install LED lights on their bikes.   8)
Step one ... increase the price of the bike 500-700 usd

It isn't going to happen and it isn't too hard to add your own now ;)

So I, modifying a single bike, can add an LED headlight for 5x less than the factory can by buying in bulk? They're in dire need of a better procurement manager.

I've got a Samsung Tab S2 and everything loaded smoothly. I have both the Zero app and the 3rd party Zero Voltage apps loaded on the tablet. switching between the 2 while on the bike usually requires closing out 1 app before opening the other one. The good thing is the Bluetooth connection isn't lost when switching. The Zero Voltage app can run in split screen mode along with maps, plugshare, or audio app running to my LE Boom 2 speaker. The factory app doesn't support split screen mode for some reason.

Your experience and drive setup is the same as mine. Except that I don't use the Zero app while riding. I find looking at it distracts from my riding experience - and safety while moving, as it takes me a while to focus from distance to the display.

That's why I use an 8" tablet much higher in my line of sight. I glance down to look at the rate (w) and current (amps) which are quick to pick out since they are red under acceleration and green under braking.
I use capacity as my "fuel" gauge and don't even pay attention to the % guess-o-meter on the instrument panel.

I've been using the Zero Voltage app for about 8 months. I have it displayed on my tablet mounted on the handlebars and use it for instant feedback on energy consumption/recovery. I also set my trip2 to read whr/mile. I have learned that a 10% movement of the throttle at backroad cruising speed doesn't net much of a speed increase but consumption rises drastically. I've also discovered how lightly I can apply the brakes and still get maximum regen. Based on what I've learned, I run my custom mode with 100% top speed, torque, and brake regen, while using 0% coasting regen. I get all the performance of sport mode but my whr/mile has dropped from 115 to 90-95. One thing that really surprised me was how pitifully small the coasting harvesting was in sport mode (factory set at 30%). That app has made me a much better Zero rider.

Oh darn, I guess you'll have to settle for a demo SR. Suffering for the cause.  ;)

When charging from 20-80%, my battery temp goes up 4-6 deg C. These readings come from summer time charging in South Carolina so if the set up was prone to cooking the battery, I would have experienced it. The biggest factor I've seen is how hard I was riding right before charging up. Just my personal experience FWIW.

The fact that you had to lean to the right to get the kickstand up proves you had used most of your rear suspension travel just on sag. Bump up your rear shock spring preload at least 3 notches. I'm a heavy guy so it's like riding 2-up all the time. I run 1 notch from max preload. The side benefit is I can run a softer compression setting without compromising stability.
