Brammo Forum / "The Heart of Brammo will remain"
« on: January 24, 2015, 12:16:33 AM »
From the Medford Oregon Tribune:

Quote
The skin and bones of Brammo's Enertia and Empulse electric motorcycles have exchanged hands. The brains and guts remain in the Rogue Valley along with the future of the company Craig Bramscher founded a decade ago.

Sounds like a great guy who is/was part of motorcycle history.

Cedric Lynch of Agni Motors to answer your questions, live!

21st March 2012

The legend that is Cedric Lynch, gives his time to chat exclusively with TTXGP Forum members. He brings with him team boss and business partner Arvind Rabadia to answer your questions.

Agni Motors Racing Team's not-so-secret weapon is a giant within the EV world. Ask anyone who has ever built an EV of any description and they would have come across his name if not his motor. Cedric Lynch has been inventing since the 1970's and showed the world his first electric motor design in 1979, using a prototype in a competition to make a vehicle get the furthest in two hours on the power of two small car batteries. His design came second out of about 50 competitors using a home-made motor which had armature and field laminations cut out from flattened soup cans. Subsequent developments in Cedric's motor saw permanent magnets used and also had the magnetic flux running axially through the armature.

Cedric's fame has grown over the years from appearances on Tomorrow World, New Scientist and most recently Wallace & Gromit on the BBC. More recently, TTXGP have been hearing rumblings about a brand new more powerful motor as well as exciting opportunities for the application of the motor beyond the road; including a solar powered water pump project just completed in India.

This week at 7pm (GMT) on Thursday 22nd March the winning team of Cedric Lynch and his best friend, business partner, and Agni Motors race team owner Arvind Rabadia, will be joining us to chat motors, races, and build projects.

Please post any questions you have for him here and be sure to be online on Thursday for this rare opportunity.

Electric Motorcycle Events / FIM screws TTXGP... again
« on: September 23, 2011, 02:06:03 AM »
Not just disappointed. I'm angry
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znn_Y...ayer_embedded#!

Here's what I wrote on Hellforleathermagazine.com 's article about this piece of crap:

Revisionist history at its finest. This is how Dorna and FIM work together to hide any reference to TTXGP and the efforts of Azhar Hussain and his organization in bringing electric motorcycle racing into public awareness.

FIM forbade TTXGP from bringing its own cameras to chronicle this event. Forbade TTXGP and the teams from running onboard cameras, too. All with the promise that it would provide excellent video coverage.

I am sick to my stomach watching this series of unprofessional video snapshots, thinking about what could have been, and what should have been — comprehensive and artistic footage of a historic race.

Shame on you, FIM and Dorna.
Vive la TTXGP.

Electric Motorcycle Events / Yates and Mission at Infineon Today
« on: August 25, 2011, 11:12:17 PM »
Not sure what the plan is for today, but I know Yates is on his way to Bonneville for BUB.  Thought this pic was pretty awesome:

And here's Chip's bike, faired for Bonneville:

Just saw this at the VIR site:
Quote
Media Alert: July 11, 2011
"No AMA Pro Racing event will take place at VIR in 2011.
If circumstances are conducive in 2012, VIR looks forward to renewing its relationship with AMA Pro Racing."

I'm not sure what this is all about, but I predict that No AMA = No TTXGP for VIR this year.  I hope TTXGP find some other site or sites to have at least one other North American race this year.
