Title: Changing the seat of an FX /FXS for something more comfortable
Post by: Moto7575 on January 17, 2019, 09:30:02 PM
Hi everybody !

I tried the FXS but i see two deal killers for me:
    - no case - this can be solved by adding a small adaptable topcase
    - awful seat - after 15' testing it I had a no-go from my wife, unless i can build or adapt a more comfortable seat.

Any idea to solve #2 ???

It can be along and tedious search, but if you persevere and shop carefully, always keeping a close eye on the budget, new wives can be acquired.

Funny one. But the wife I have is so out of my league that I am afraid it wont work.

My solution for the hard seat was to install an Air Hawk seat pad.

Interesting. I did not know this existed. Does it work for enduro-like seats ?

Here is how I solved this problem: https://photos.app.goo.gl/6czY3JqraAJQcFzE7
The seat is this one: https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B07DPNNPPG/
It is attached from the 4 cups in the corners, using bungee cord.

For what it's worth Zero sells a "dirt bike seat", I forget exactly what they call it but can get the part number if you like.  It's the flat, non-contoured seat from the 2013 model.  It has more padding and is a bit taller.  Drop on replacement, just has the old Zero logo.

Interessant ! le coussin a ventouse tient bien à l'arrière ? J'ai peur qu'il se décroche...

Interesting. How much does it cost - i can also have a made to order seat with added gel & padding for 200 euros...
