Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2012 and older / 2010 Zero S Not charging
« on: May 10, 2023, 02:37:05 PM »
Just fitted a new battery pack ( after Nissan leaf packs blowing up and failing, not sure why) and now the DeltaQ charger won’t charge the bike ( tried 2 and both the same, straight to red light not even going up the 4 bar scale or to the 80% mark )
Voltage good at 52v so not under or over voltage, BMS does a single check beep self diagnosis when connected.
Stand switch is disabled
The bike powers on and actually moves but has the small red “warning LED” on permanent red 🤔
Want to know how to check the interlock function and try fooling the system. Is it a 5V negative feed to the interlock wire ?
What happens then? Does that make the BMS or MBB send a signal back to the charger to initiate charging ?
Any help or ideas appreciated

The old 2010 Zero S refuses to fire up or charge now
It’s got a 6 blink red light code
Can anyone remember the blink codes ?
Hopefully useful to have a record of it for the future …

I have some DeltaQ chargers running the “1.11” algorithm that blink the red light when the battery is fully charged
BUT the ones with the 1.14 Algorithm don’t display the red fault LED when the battery is fully charged (58v)
Does anyone know the actually differences in the charge parameters of these two algorithms?
Using them on 2010 Zero x dc batteries and a Zero S

Hi
Can’t get any BMS for my old Zero MX’s so will have to source an alternative BMS.
Does anyone know a compatible one ?
Failing that what do the brown and black wires do from the KSI to the MBB on the diagram?

Cash waiting

Does anyone have a picture of the cells inside a 2012 era Zero. I am looking to see if the EIG cells were packaged with the factory enclosures or if Zero made their own

Hi
Looking to buy a BMS board for. 2010 Zero MX, this is the year that they incorporated the BMS into the Aluminium end plate of the battery. Originally used the Molicel cells.
Thanks

Can I ask the moderators if we can start a section for the Bultaco Brinco as they have started selling this year and have done over 1000 bikes now .

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2012 and older / 2012 ZF9 charging upgrades
« on: November 14, 2015, 07:17:53 PM »
trying to upgrade a 2012 Zero ZF9 charging to give quicker charging.

Does anyone know what the standard charge up time is for that model year to 100% and 80%, And what options are available to reduce charge time?

Does the J1772 adaptor actually reduce charge time over just plugging it into your wall at home?

There is a Y adaptor that allows 2 chargers to be used at once for the 2012 model part number 10-04423.

I have spare zero yellow Quiq chargers, ( model 912-4800 ) so could the correct 2012 charging algorithm be flashed into this charger so we could have 2 chargers or does the 2012 have a higher rated Quiq charger?

Or is Chademo charging available for 2012 model year and if so what is the cost and the charge advantage?

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Will Zero team up with Ducati?

An interesting article here.

We were debating whether a buyer would be found for Zero in the same way as Brammo was bought out, this may be a major manufacturer dipping their toe in the market.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2012 and older / Overheating 2012 ZF9
« on: May 10, 2015, 06:30:38 PM »
I have a problem when my Zero S ZF9 goes into reduced power mode due to overheating motor when used at higher speeds or sustained acceleration bursts. The red triangle blinks and then the power is reduced. Is this normal?
Does anyone have a solution to this?

Does anyone have any pics of the inside of an EIG cell battery for a Zero X/MX and know the cell configuration?
