Title: Rally fairing on an FX
Post by: Ranga on May 28, 2016, 11:34:43 PM
I know its unusual, but I love the way those tall enduro/rally fairings look on dual sport bikes, particularly those from KTM.

I think my FX would look great with one of these.  Does anyone have any ideas for what would fit on the FX's frame?

With something this complex it would almost seem easier to make a custom mold of something similar. I have a feeling that rally faring might be way too big for the FX and require a lot of tweaking to make look right or to shrink it in size.

I am sure someone makes an aftermarket fairing for the KTM's someone could experiment with if they were so inclined. :D

I also wonder if taking the mass of the headlights and gauge assembly off of the forks has any noticeable effects on the steering and response.  Its the same logic as reducing unsprung weight to improve the suspension characteristics, right?

Airtech makes these for KTM's.  Probably a lot of other potentially applicable designs as well.
