Zero Motorcycles Inc. (Zero) is recalling certain model year 2015 SR, S, DS, and FX motorcycles. The affected motorcycles have a DC-DC converter that may have insufficient output power. During high power demand, the anti-lock brake system (ABS) may not function properly.
CONSEQUENCE:
If the converter power output is insufficient, during an ABS activated event, the ABS and all vehicle lights would temporarily stop functioning, increasing the risk of a crash.
REMEDY:
Zero has notified owners, and dealers will inspect the DC-DC converters, replacing ones of a specific type as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on September 16, 2016. Owners may contact Zero customer service at 1-888-841-8085. Zero’s number for this recall is SV-ZMC-016-356.
NOTES:
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov (http://www.safercar.gov).

That picture always bothers me... You should never have your body over the line on a blind corner.

You do have a point there. Its marketing, so it could be a 'closed course'.
Pants with no armor are not right for that kind of riding either. Abrasion resistant jeans are don't protect from impact.

Huh, only affects 96 bikes. Think I'm in the clear!
-
I may not be, my bike the last few weeks has momentarily lost all power and lights turning left I thought, but now I think about it it was while braking as well. But in about 20 hours of riding its only done it 4 or 5 times. Very intermittent.

Most manufacturers provide a list of VIN numbers so you can check and see if yours is on the recall list or not. In this case they did not provide such a list, so you should probably call them up and see. I have attached the Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) to this post as well.

On my FX, visual inspection worked quite well to determine that mine is NOT a recalled unit.

Looks like my SR is in the clear too! :)

I assume you just looked at the build date on the headstock? I haven't checked mine yet but I got in April of '15 so I think that would have to been built before the date listed in the recall.

Per the TSB, look at the DC-DC convertor. On the FX I had to partially remove the rubber cover on the left hand side.
