The 2020 model has Internet connectivity and GPS. I thought it was an identical set up essentially.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / No NAV on 2020 SRF? New battery
« on: January 19, 2024, 11:47:14 PM »
Hello all, I’ve been very fortunate to get a new battery under warranty. I also have my dashboard updated and got the parking mode installed. I was under the impression that I could get turned by turn guidance also, but the dealership is telling me that that is only available on 2021 or later models? Anyone have any experience with this? Why should 2021 be different than 2020?

Getting a new battery as well!

What was the reason they stated for refusing the warranty? Surely it could not be that you posted the issue to a forum dedicated to people with Zero issues…

Wait what?

I would think it would be an opportunity for Zero to demonstrate the ease of a warranty battery replacement, thus bolstering their customer service reputation. People understand equipment issues especially on first year models, but people do not like it when companies don’t fix the issues. I have no reason to be upset with Zero and I fully expect the issue to be resolved one way or the other.

Also this is a known issue which has been well documented by others. What makes you think Zero would take punitive action against me? They have been great with me so far.

Here is a quick video I made of the issues I am having with my 2020 SR/F premium:

Briefly, the battery drops like a rock when riding, then has massive magic charge. I can only go 27 miles now on a single charge, but can get 120 miles out of the battery if I just do short trips each day. Also the estimated time to charge is way off and the bike will just sit at it's target but keep charging.

Anyway, I plan to head to Zero in the fall (dealership is quite a trip) so I will update everyone then.

Thanks,
G

Yeah, I’m canceling the order, it’s too heavy for this type of trailer in my vehicle. They don’t rent the motorcycle trailer from U-Haul one way you have to get the larger 5 x 9 trailer for a one-way. Looks like that’s what I’m doing.

I usually rent the Uhaul motorcycle trailer but that thing is huge and I need a one way rental which they don't do.

I just bought this:

Anyone with experience with it? Is this a terrible idea? I have a 2008 Jeep Patriot Limited with a 2" tow hitch.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Will I qualify for a new SRF battery?
« on: April 24, 2023, 10:37:33 PM »
Hello all,

I’ve seen several posts on people getting battery replacements. Here is a rundown of what I have been experiencing. My dealer is 350 miles away so before going I thought I’d poll this audience.

2020 SR/F, demo
Updated all firmware
Bike lunges due to regen dis activation at 98-100% charge
Bike says it will fully charge in 3 hours at 1.3, but then sits at “100%” or whatever I set it at for several hours after and is obviously still charging

Most concerning, if I am at 40% or below and get on the highway going over 60, SOC drops like a rock. Once it puts me at the limiter and I pull over, it magic charges upwards of 25% over the next hour.

Zero asked for my logs but is essentially saying take it to the dealer. I want to wait until at least winter (warrantee good until 10/24).

Any feedback or experience would be very useful.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: How to replace both tires on SRF

I looked to use a triple tree front lift and there are brake wires right over where the pin goes:(

Anyone remove that?

Ok I’ll order both.

Does anyone know if removing the front wheel is any different than the videos I am seeing for other models? Specifically I am looking for instructions on torque settings and as much detail as possible, I haven’t ever removed a motorcycle wheel before.

12
Is there a stand that will lift the front and the rear (sequentially not necessarily simultaneously)? I do t want to buy two stands if I don’t have to.

Also if anyone has a video or instructions on SRF front wheel removal that would be great, unless it’s the same as every other zero.

Thanks!

I guess I am wondering if there is a way to lift the entire bike so I can get both wheels off simultaneously. I know I am not supposed to lift a SRF from the bottom due to the electrical hardware.

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but I can't find it. I see a video of how to remove the rear wheel on Youtube, but can't find anything on the front. I don't have a way of lifting the bike yet so if I am going to buy something I want to be able to do both wheels.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Remote connect cellular
« on: February 20, 2022, 09:49:50 PM »
So I have yet to upgrade my firmware beyond version 17 due to paranoia. The bike runs fine. However, I have not been able to use the cellular function for sometime. The tab for remote connect is available, however when I click on it it shows me a location of my bike which is several months old. In addition it does not update any information on the bike when looking at the app. Is there a fix for this without having to update the firmware?
