Does someone know of a simple way to connect a J1772 to a 2014S ? Faster charging would be even better, but I have no need to spend $1,000 or take a electrical engineering class to build something ;)
I have a level 2 J1772 for my Volt (winter vehicle). It would be nice if I could take advantage of that somehow.
I see a Tuscon adapter for $100. Does it work well?

The Tucson adapter works, but the on board charger will not charge any faster. :-[
You can use a off board charger like the Diginow to charge faster.

I purchased the dual cord Tucson adapter for around $145.00, I was hoping that I can run the on-board and my single QuiQ external charger on the J1772 at the same time. I have not had a chance to test it out yet (5-8 inches of snow today).

I use my TucsonEV adapter all the time. Works great. Charges at about the same rate since you are just using the onboard charger. In conjunction with my Hollywood electrics Elcon, I charged at 3500 watts with a splitter several times.

The Tuscon adapter will let you charge at J1772 stations. For home, no real benefit as it charges at about same rate as a 120v outlet. On the road, it just allows you to use J1772 stations that may not have a 120v outlet. I have a Volt too, but no need to use my J1772 for that for my zero

100% correct.

The Tuscon J1772 adapter says it can have multiple plugs on the tail end. C13/C19.
C13 is the kind that goes in the bike's normal charging port, correct?
If I want to get ( I know, weak) a Quick charger later, should the 2nd plug be C13 or C19? There is not one good freaking picture of the quick charger plugs on the whole freaking internet.

C13 will fit on board as well as Delta Quiq charger

I have the 2x C13 adapter from Tucson. It works great with my internal charger + my QuiQ (2.5KW charging at the Level II station at work). I think they dropped the price recently, I am pretty sure I paid $145, I see it's $135 now.

C19 fits the elcon 2500 Harlan used to sell. With the heavier gauge version of the TucsonEV, I've successfully used a c13 splitter (y cable) followed by converter cable on one leg to drive both onboard and elcon 2500.
