Energica / Re: Ribelle - talk me out of it !
« on: May 17, 2024, 10:08:36 PM »
From my test ride - weight & height, price, chain (noise and grime), high likelihood of losing license  ;D count against it. Not being an owner though I couldn't comment on anything else.

Cas :)

Which one did you try? I tried out the Ribelle and going from an SR/F with a chargetank, it felt less top heavy. I found it quite easy to maneuver in slow speeds (no reverse needed) and not any worse than my SR/F.
I have sat on Morgan's older SS9 and that was a heavy bike for me! Ribelle not so much

I have been wanting to add clip ons to my SR/F as well? Mind sharing which one you used? Did you have to customize anything to have those clip-ons mount correctly?

Harley LiveWire Forum / Re: Well, now we know (S2 Mulholland)
« on: March 22, 2024, 12:58:31 AM »
In all honesty the range is disappointing. My SR/F with the new 15.6kWh pack has been consistently giving me 100 miles of range in winter at around 65mph freeway speeds (not too windy), which I assume will be higher in summer. Yes the bike weighs around 100lbs more (with the chargetank) than the Mulholland, but for those 78 mins of charging stop I can get more range than the S2.

Granted Zero has quality or other issues, but for 17,995.00 why not get the newest Zero S with a chargetank? or 14,995.0 without chargetank but with a rated 154miles of city riding?

Indeed! The range is quite significantly improved with the new pack, but the charging sucks from what i have heard of from the FB group. I need to do a proper check with my 9kW charging setup to see if I even get 9kW or not.
They are being too conservative witht the new pack maybe?

And how much warranty is left over with the battery?

These numbers don't add up.  My Tesla 3 long range will do that acceleration in 3.7, and only claims around 900nM but weighs 4050 pounds.  Its top speed is software-limited to 145.  So this 450-ish pound bike has more torque but the same acceleration?

Is the 900NM at the wheel?

Has this been on this site?

Hero MotoCorp and Zero Motorcycles have signed a deal, and will now co-develop EV products for India. Hero had earlier announced an equity investment of $60 million (Rs 490 crore approx). Now, the Indian two-wheeler giant will levy its expertise in scaling production, sourcing and marketing for Zero Motorcycle products.

Now that is interesting news that I hadn't heard before. I imagine that Zero will need to design a low-price city-bike model for the India market. Most of the motorcycle buyers in the country are on a budget and I doubt they will be willing to pay the kind of prices that we pay for electric motorcycles.

Agree that the likes of FST platform bikes are a hard sell in India for that price. Unless the charging infrastructure improves there, these cannot yet be marketed as sport touring bikes or one would spend that money only to do relatively short distances. For longer distances in India, I believe that a 120-140 miles on a single charge is realistic with most Intercity highways being 100kmph average. But the 500cc+ market is growing in the cities. So the likes of Zero S/SR underpriced with the FST platform could be a better sell on premium bikes there. Maybe the Gen2 platform with the 11kW config could also sell better as "premium commuters".

Wow!! Really love this. Mind sharing the links to the headlight and the brackets? I would really love to try this myself :)

I'm in Carmel Valley. Let me know if you'd like to meet up next time you're here.
Absolutely! Would love that. I'll post here when I'm riding down there. Maybe sometime when it gets a bit more.warmer  :)
