Title: UK Buyers - Shortfall/GAP Insurance
Post by: Hands0n on November 22, 2017, 06:57:33 PM
One for the UK Zero buyers and recent owners ...

Have you, or how have you, arranged for GAP/Shortfall insurance on your purchase?   These bikes are not cheap, finance costs for 3 or 4 years are not inconsiderable.  Yet if anything untoward happens we are exposed [potentially] to the remaining finance and no motorcycle to show for it!  Enter GAP or Shortfall insurance that covers the cost of replacement or pays off the finance, depending on what package you buy.

It seems, so far, that the on-line GAP/Shortfall insurers will not cover the Zero Motorcycle because it is not listed in Glass's guide!  That is my experience so far and time is running out to obtain the cover, usually within six months of purchase.

So do any of you have a solution to this?  Have you successfully got the cover and if so can you recommend any sources?

The insurance industry are really not doing much to help with the Government's EV intentions ....
