LiveWiire vs Zero SR/F comparison video
« on: September 02, 2022, 08:51:15 PM »

Here is a long video of a direct comparison between the LiveWire One and the Zero SR/F electric motorcycles by Yammie Noob. While I hate most of his reviews and his attitude, this review is one of his better ones, mostly because both bikes are ridden side-by-side and you can make your own judgement regarding his evaluation based upon what you see:

Do they convey false information just before minute 5 about what level 2 is?

Do they discuss the dealer/service network for the Livewire, I guess the one and future models.

Both manufacturers give these guys bikes to test out.  Intresting.

Yeah, he meant Level 3, which is the 2nd level of charging on the LW. It has no Level two, which IMAO, is ridiculous.

3KW on Level two isn't all that great but it can help to get to the next fast charger without having to wait twice as long as with the LW.

Of the three bikes mentioned near the end, I will take the Energica, of course. And MY Experia should be here this month.

Well, you know the Noob, he doesn't always get his facts right. That wasn't the only mistake he made. Zero did not give him that SR/F to test. He got it from a local motorcycle shop that buys used bikes and loans them to him to review.

In term of looks, they should have compared an SRF (in black - i don't understand Zero's pastel color choice) with the limewire. Personnaly torque and 0-100 are important, so i don't why I would pay more for a slower limewire... But people can have different preferences.

I have to give it to the guy he knows how to work his marketing.  When he puts out wrong info and people comment to correct him it drives up his YT algorithm.  I mean if I had a $ for every review where they act like you can get both a charge tank and a power tank at the same time on a Zero I'd be a very rich man.

It's hard to tell if rider weight effected it that much or if the known fact that Zeros start to drop your power at lower SOC while the Livewire keeps it up until it's mostly dead.

I noticed that too. He mentioned that Zero offered another $6K worth of options and implied that is what you would have to pay to get the same features as the LW. Plus, he claimed that the Zero had its extra battery capacity unlocked to get it over 17+ kWh. That seems unlikely to me. I thought the Cyber Store was still not up and running yet. I am sure if you looked around you could find some other inaccuracies in the review. They mentioned that they are big on H-D bikes. Since the LW was offered to them for free to review they likely gave it some slack in the comparison. Plus, I don't recall any mention that the bike is now called a LiveWire One.  One other thing that wasn't mentioned was how few LW1 dealers there are in the U.S. I went looking for a LiveWire dealer near me and all I could find is one dealer in CA, located in Southern California, about 400 miles away from where I live. Not very convenient, especially if you need service and parts.   :(

It's says there is a LiveWire 1 dealer at:

1000 Arden Way,
Sacramento, CA 95815

But I see that is also a Harley dealer. Do some Harley dealers sell the LW1?

I see here also San Franciso as well as San Jose.

It is my understanding that H-D dealers no longer sell or service LiveWires. When I googled LiveWireOne dealers I didn't see a dealer in Sacramento, only the one in So. Ca.  ???

Show me the link you're using. The map I have above is from the LiveWireOne website.

I was using this website, but I don't know how to see the map. It says to use control + scroll, but I can't find a scroll button on my keyboard.  ???

I use the scroll on my mouse. works fine. And you will then see there is also a LW1 dealer in SF as well as in San Jose and Sacramento.

But nothing in the entire state of NV (which is fine with me).

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I had no idea there was a liveWire dealer in SF. The local H-D dealer moved out of SF years ago and relocated to South San Francisco.

I sort of got the site to work and located the address of the LW dealer, but what a miserable website. Could they make it any more difficult to use? I am not familiar with any motorcycle shops at 3146 Mission St in SF and the website didn't even provide the name of the dealership. I will have to use Google Maps to locate it and to look at the street view to see what is going on there. I'll give that a try tomorrow.

Who designed that website?  The Cybermen?  ::)
