Not a single motorcycle in the whole video from Electrek.co but here is proof that you can charge while trailering or in bed, at least in a Ford F150 Lightning.  Plus there is a cool electric jet ski in the video.

This opens up so many options.  This is level two 6-7kw charging so it's very manageable time wise for even 0-100 charging on bikes with good enough AC charging.  Smaller off roads bike days? Check.  Tour riding in remote locations without long boring highway rides? Check.

Race days where the charging is only level 1 if there is any at all?  Check.  No generator needed.

It is hard to figure out what options and trim level it would take to get that 240 volt plug in the bed.  My ktm electric motorcycle needs 240 volts or 230 or 250 or thereabouts.

The lowest trim level comes with
• 2.4 kW Pro Power Onboard

That guy must have a real high spec model the tailgate closes hands free.

The 240 volt plug and likely the others are as you note hot while driving.


That plug in my attachment looks like a nema L1430R if so then 7200 watts 30 amps times 240 volts.

The 2.4kW Pro power is included in all standard size battery models.
The 9.6kW pro power onboard costs $1,200 for all models with the standard size battery. All extended battery Lightnings have that included.

Edit: And you're right about the 30A outlet, only 7.2kW coming out of that. That's still pretty good, though.
I'm a day one reservation (5-19-2021) holder but my chance to order hasn't come up, and the price for the model I want jumped up by $9k, and it's no longer eligible for the tax credit so I'll have to pass on it unfortunately.

the 9.6 is "total" output.  So the 240V outlet and the other 120V outlets as well.
