Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: Will Zero switch to NACS?
« on: May 15, 2024, 06:34:26 PM »
TeslaTap has designed a NACS conversion kit for the Zero SR/S. They should be available to the public soon. The kit allows from BOTH NACS and J-1772 chargers up to 19.7kW... https://www.myteslatap.com/nacs13.jpg   https://www.myteslatap.com/nacs6.jpg

How is that any different than the existing TeslaTap mini? It's not like it can convert the DC Power from a Supercharger to the AC required by the SR/S. Is there something special about the SR/S we don't know about?

Other Electric Motorcycles / Re: Meta-Cycle update
« on: May 14, 2024, 06:54:06 PM »
Apparently there was a history of bad credit with the company.  This was several years back and I don't remember the details. I'm pretty sure I posted something about his troubles here when it happened but I'm not familiar with the search facility or even what keywords I would use to narrow it down.

Other Electric Motorcycles / Meta-Cycle update
« on: May 13, 2024, 07:07:26 PM »
Some years ago when the Meta-Cycle was first announced and they were taking deposits, a friend of mine attempted to put a deposit on one, but both of his credit card companies REFUSED the charge, saying that it looked suspicious. Looks like they did him a HUGE favor!

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Front wheel lift for 2021 Zero SR
« on: May 02, 2024, 06:59:39 PM »
Looking for recommendations. I already have a lift for the rear wheel but I'm looking for a front wheel lift that will allow me to remove the front wheel. Thanks in advance!

OH!  One more thing! After I got the panels back I ordered a pair of these from AF-1 to replace the ones he had to remove before painting:

I'm NOT that ambitious.  I brought the panels and the front fender to a local shop recommended by several of my friends. I told him I wanted the panels painted the same color as the fender. I couldn't get a color code from Zero (I asked). So I counted on the guy at the shop (at this point, I'll refer to him as "The Artist") to do the match and he did it PERFECTLY. He also did the paint on my 1999 K1200LT, as the saddlebag lids had faded really bad while the rest of the bike looked fine.  He doesn't have a website, but has a presence on a few social media sites if anyone is interested.  Shortened Google Link to his info:  https://is.gd/2B4Yq1

Hmm, maybe Ill try them on the Ribelle first then.  Not sure I need to be sliding back that much on the EGO, that's kind of what I am trying NOT to do is sliding all over, im already tucked. I still love the way they look though.

Just because you CAN slide back doesn't mean you HAVE to...  ;)

I really like the way that looks, I might want to get that on my EGO here.  Does it raise or lower you much from the original seat?

If I slide back, it FEELS a little bit higher. However, like every Corbin seat I've owned, it'll eventually break in to the shape of my pelvic bones and will likely feel the same height. More importantly, there is more room to slide back, so it makes it easier to get into a tuck at highway speeds.

The evolution of the bike since I first took delivery in 2022:

LOVE the way this looks!

I was leery at first but Enrico (the owner) and Justo (the technician) really know their stuff.  There is a little Cuban luncheonette on the corner so every time I've gone down there, I've had lunch while Justo worked on my bike. Naturally, they have concerns over New York City's IDIOTIC "Congestion Pricing" policy going into effect later this Spring. They're a small shop and they see this costing them customers. I don't think they have the financial means to move, either so this has the potential to REALLY suck...

Would that be Filipacchi in Manhattan?
Hudson Valley Motorcycles - Filipacchi’s schtick is electric mobility so I think they’re fine to keep going with Energica.

Currently they only carry Zero and Energica.  All of the "Electric Mobility" stuff they used to carry is long gone.  Damn shame about Hudson Valley. I always planned on taking a ride up there to demo an SS9.  Taking a demo ride around Manhattan doesn't sound like much fun to me.  Zero did demos at Americade a couple of years ago.  Before that, a local dealer offered demo rides up there too.  I've NEVER seen Energica there, and I think they're missing a HUGE opportunity by not being at the world's largest touring rally!

General Discussion / Re: Little new
« on: March 18, 2024, 04:06:14 AM »
As long as ANY of my vehicles are running and problem free, I have no reason to get rid of any of them. My K1200LT is 25 years old this year and has over 238,000 miles on it. It is also the most reliable vehicle of any kind I've ever owned. I'd have to be STONED to replace it.  I traded in my 2001 Subaru Outback in 2018 because I could no longer get replacement parts for it. Other than that, I'd still be driving that today.

I have little to no incentive to replace either my 2021 SR, or my 2019 XMAX. As long as they keep running, I'll hang on to them. Can't understand why anyone would want to replace a perfectly good running vehicle which is why I've never purchased a used vehicle until recently (the SR is the first used vehicle I've ever owned, and the previous owner's reason for selling it made sense to me when I was in the market for another Zero and could no longer get what I wanted from the manufacturer).

Lightning / Re: I ordered a Lightning.

That doesn't make sense.  My Zero dealership in Manhattan also carries Energica.
