ICE bikes are a hassle, too.

It's just we got used to going to the gas station.

Yep. If the modern style EVs came first and later ICE vehicles many people would complain that they cannot have their refueling station in their garage and have to go out of their way to gas stations. And cannot fill up while asleep. 

And then the oil changes, etc., etc. And the lack of torque & the shifting (even with automatics--cannot use cruise control in the mountains, etc., etc.). The complaint list will be endless with ICE.
