Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: Sevcon DVT Software
« on: December 20, 2022, 02:51:46 PM »
Good morning!
Im new to this forum, but recently acquired a 2014 zero s minus the battery for an incredible deal. I wanted to possibly use this on another build as a few things are missing like the key switch, kickstand switch and possibly a few other small, but assuming big things. I have removed the wiring harness, motor, dc to dc reducer, controller, throttle, on/off switch and what Im assuming to be the the bms. Its looks to be roughly 3"x 7"(without putting a tape on it) black box. Is there any info or can anyone assist me in getting this operational? Thanks and I look forward to any and all responses!

hi there..
did you manage to put it a new battery? Got it to work? If yes, pls let me know how you did it.. could be a great help.
thanks

thanks a lot tom.. will have a look into that..

the only thing that I see wright now is that it's software you may need if you use the controller with another motor..
Since I'm planning to use it with the same motor.. I don't think  I need the programmer..

I think I need to know what signals go from BMS to controller and vice versa.. also, where the f*ck is the dc to dc converter :)

thanks again

hi Tom, thanks..

The BMS is gone.. dead.. it was the reason why the battery got drained completely..

What do you mean with 'controlled by the main board'.
Is that a board sitting on the BMS?

also.. what cable and software are you referring to for the controller?

thanks again

Anyone experience the build of a new battery for a zero.
Connecting the battery to the controller is poorly documented.. could use some advice.

Oset Forum / Throttle is too on/off
« on: December 01, 2022, 01:35:32 AM »
Hi. The 16” Osset of a friend is not ‘controllable’ enough.
The throttle has an on/off feeling.
Although there is a pot that can be adjusted, it isn’t doing what I want
Only when the battery is almost empty, it’s riding just fine.

Am I missing something?

Parts, Mods And Hacks / Zero DS 2013 battery only 8v. Anyone?
« on: December 01, 2022, 01:31:09 AM »
Hi fellows..
I bought a zero ds 2013 with a 9.4 kWh battery.

It’s only giving 8v.

I opened up the pack (like 120 screws!) and
Each brick is also giving 8v.

So I opened a brick… and I opened itselfs. Freaky…
Looks Like lipo swollen battery… anyone tips on this?

Is this still useable?

Or should I make a new battery?

If yes, how can I use a new battery with new bms get to work with the controller?

Thanks a lot.
