I am building a plane using a Zero powertrain. Is it possible remove the now useless ABS system and reuse some of its fuses?
Thanks

I don't see any obvious concern there. The MBB contains ABS settings that you can toggle to ensure it doesn't try to control a missing system.
The ABS system does operate off of the DC-DC converter, and operating the pump is the motivation for Zero upgrading from a 300W converter to a 500W converter, so that'll free up some 12V load.

Hey Ray. I would strongly urge you to get in contact with Mark Beierle in southern California. He has built several planes using the Zero Powertrain and is well-versed in how to go about it. http://www.thundergull.com/

Thanks guys.
MVetter, I talk to Mark frequently. The plane I am building is a kit from his company company, Earthstar. So far he has kept the ABS system intact nut unused. I was going to do likewise but thought that might not be necessary.
Brian, can you point me to where I can find out how to make the MBB change the ABS settings? I did not find anything at "zeromanual" .
Thanks

Just speculating that this thread should be on an alternative universe forum.

It's true that zeromanual doesn't make such things as easy to find as it might.
Navigate to https://zeromanual.com/wiki/MBB_Console#Settings and click "Expand".
"abs_disable" is the relevant setting. "set abs_disable on"

Ah, expand made it visible.
I see the kickstand interlock can be disabled too. That would be better than attaching a magnet the sensor.
Are these commands "sticky" so they remain in effect on subsequent rides/flights?
Thanks.

Yes, the settings persist across restarts/reboots as far as I understand.
There are settings reset commands and ways to dump/restore if you're concerned about any changes or excursions.

Perfect.
Thanks
