No wonder...
I said a couple of years ago that they owned the company, and someone in the forum got very excited because of my statement...
It was true that at that time they did not own 100% of the company, or at least nobody knew what they actually owned (They purchased "b" shares, which means it is not disclosed your level of decision/management power in the company board).
Anyway, hope this would be good news for Brammo.

After Brammo did not make the dirtbike or a dual sport, I lost interest in them. Perhaps now they can focus on making bikes and Polaris can provide the dealer network; I thought I read that some place. I think different people work on engineering new bikes compared to making a dealer network, so not sure this really helps Brammo make bikes. If they hire more engineers and layoff other people maybe that would do it. Always sad to hear about layoffs though.
Maybe now the FX and KTM have established some sort of a more stable baseline, Brammo can set their design goals based on the current competition. The Zero offroad line was changing so fast for a while, but now it seems like it found a more stable point. I hope Brammo does provide the FX some competition with a new bike. The FX is all alone.

This much is clear:
Brammo will not be making any motorcycles, old ones or new ones.
They sold the motorcycle division to Polaris.
Brammo will continue to develop integrated drivetrain systems for all types of energetic vehicles, consisting of lithium ion batteries, motor controllers, battery management systems, etc.

This article by Autoblog kind of goes after Brammo for not proceeding with some of the other production motorcycle products that they had announced in the past: http://www.autoblog.com/2015/01/22/polaris-buys-brammo-electric-motorcycles/ (http://www.autoblog.com/2015/01/22/polaris-buys-brammo-electric-motorcycles/)

...maybe because they didn't? :D
Here's what I was able to dig up: http://insideevs.com/brammos-funding-history/ (http://insideevs.com/brammos-funding-history/)
Of course we're not sure what the final deal was, but it looks like now they own the (motorcycle) company, and they got it for pennies on the dollar.

Yes, that's clear. This part isn't necessarily so clear:
Brammo will continue to develop integrated drivetrain systems for all types of energetic vehicles, consisting of lithium ion batteries, motor controllers, battery management systems, etc.

I wonder how much of that funding went to the Brammo Girls. ::)

Agreed Richard.
Maybe, that's what they will get focused on after selling the motorcycle division ;D ;D
