Title: see the new Zero accessories?
Post by: blake on April 25, 2012, 01:50:00 AM
did you all see the new line-up of accessories now listed on the Zero website? (heated grips, new screens, passenger foot pegs, accessory power sockets, and other goodies not previously listed)

Interesting. It looks like they culled a lot of older parts - brushes and whole motors, additional batteries for the X / XU and battery adapters for the same, some fairing bits, etc. I hope those are still available if you call in.

Just a quick price comparison:

Zero 12V DC outlet $50 + $65 (S) bracket kit vs Honda NT700 $89 + $15 wire harness
Zero Heated Grips $140 + $115 outlet kit vs Honda NT700 $190 + $110 attachment kit + $15 wire harness

When it comes to heated grips, a much better deal is to install the 12V power outlet and buy a pair of heated gloves.  Not only will they keep your entire hand warm (and not just the palm), but you can use them on another motorcycle, now or in the future.   :)

That "front cowl and mini screen" windscreen looks cute but it sure is expensive at $279.99 (?) for what you get, especially compared with the $99.99 "summer screen".  (What is this gas station pricing?)

I agree with you Richard. Yup, if I can get the XU registered one day I will buy the 12V kit and this set (already have them on my WRR): http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/5220/ (http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/5220/)

I am disappointed that J1772 socket option is gone. Sometimes the only recharging option available (and the parking spot :) ) is the public charging station which uses the J-socket.

The dealer told me Zero can sell a J1772 to 110V adapter but I am still waiting for a price quote for this item.

interesting new accessories.

I have been looking at getting either the Front Cowl and Mini Screen or the Summer Screen for my S and wondering how it improves aero dynamics and keeps cold of your chest. the summer screen seems to go higher up but is much steeper, for the Mini screen we do not have a photo so struggle to picture how it would fit.

Here is a pic of my DS with the "sport screen". Apparently I was one of the first to get it.

The windscreen is doing its job very well. I think I get high-ish mileage per charge thanks to this windscreen.

thanks for providing a picture of what the smaller screen looks like on the bike. Not at all what I expected. I think I'll stay naked.. ;-)  Not like we'll be doing any cross-country epic rides on this bike anyway...

Hi rotiti
Interesting look with sportsscreen. Pls post some more pics on how it looks and close ups.

It mOves the bikes look to sportier. With that would like to change more items for a sportier and aero efficient set up.

Looks pretty cool, especially on a slender bike like the Zero. How's the wind blocking? Any buffeting around your helmet?

I'm still undecided about the screen, especially since I ride mostly in town (though "in town" for me includes 50-65 mph stretches). I think I'm definitely going for the mirror extenders, though.
