Minute 2:0?  all fixed by dinner time.  They can add 5% something to those cables and make it a crime to scrap them.  Wait until the cells in the batteries have value on some market.  It did not say how they were vandalized/victimized battery mini band saw would make short order of that task.  Were they water cooled?  Maybe the copper is needed for the vehicles and the cables should be aluminum or something without much scrap value, obviously the conductor gauge would be more.

The text article is not worth much besides the weight distribution.  2 seconds faster than a sort of street bike Energica but how long is the course for those not following the series.   The video is great in my estimation.  Makes me wonder what the traction control rules are in motorcycle road racing.  Is it still AMA rules?

General Discussion / Re: Musk the destroyer
« on: May 04, 2024, 07:13:35 PM »
So what is up with Musk - again?  The day after California's governor proclaimed that Ford and a couple of other auto brands would now be able to access Tesla Superchargers, news reports are saying that Musk fired his entire Supercharger installation and maintenance department, even the interns that were working in that division. As usual, everyone, including the workers and likely even the governor were blindsided by his action. What a guy!

Fired entire as I put in bold is hard to believe.  Spin off that?

What is destroyed is the concept that stocks are suposed to pay dividends.  If the top executives or whatever label you want get paid so much no dividend paid.

The article or the webpage states it is avilable now.  Going to https://ryvid.com/ it is get on the list.  Is it already DOT approved?  At first I thought about tipping over and easily picking it back up.  Some doesn't make sense 1.6 inches or rear travel, just a linkage for packaging purposes or advertising?  Four inches of seat vertical adjustment, add in some suspention and a touring padded part with a nice passenger portion.  The front brake looks much like the one on my 2017 ktm, later they went to all of the pistons on one side.

For all the reading the guy won't use a kil a watt meter.  I got 2.3333 kw on board charger from figures off that page.

So, the price drop is on new left over 2023 bikes?  I see the video is 1 day old.  I don't know about you guys but the fees beyond msrp tend to be minimal for new left over bikes as least the smaller ones I pay attention to.

Does the guy know what he is talking about around minute 2:30  fully adjustable fork and shock top end stuff.  I am not a top end street (adventure here) bike expert, but a top end dirt bike will have fully adjustable meaning high speed and low speed seperate compression adjusters on the shock.  Even then there is often more top of the line so to speak here as opposed to there.

It says 6.6kw integrated charger on the zero site.  Seems his 20-minute charge should have got him more miles he did not speak in terms of kwh he put into the bike in the 20 minutes.

Sounds like it will do 60mph with changes to the final drive.

Well therein lies the problem ... Now that's newsworthy. If they can make an entire car with a much bigger battery cheaper than an SR, why can't Zero make bikes for half the price and still turn a decent profit...?

Cas :)
I can answer that from reading on here.  Zero laid off all of its motorcyce assembly personel and in the process cut the work force by 10%.  It was sort of a question someone asked at the time what are those 90% doing?

One other thing that I thought of last night is that none of the motorcycle brand forums that I frequent are supported by ads on the forum. Not even BMW will post an ad on any of the many BMW enthusiast motorcycle forums that I have visited to help support it, much less any EM brand. You would think that a little advertising revenue from the major EM brands would help to keep the forums afloat. But that does not seem to be the case.   ???

Just a tidbit of information for you.  BMW owned the Husqvarna motorcycle brand for a while and in that time era they bought the internet forum huskytalk.  It was pretty deserted at that point as the traffic had mostly moved on to cafehusky.  It was much more street bike oriented than before they bought it.  I am not sure what will happen if I go to huskytalk now.

Edit:  I just went there and guess who was the last poster?  at least on the page that showed up.  Kind of confusing 190 or so folks on there no actual members and 2022 seems last posting.  I can't find where I stored my user name and password.

Harley LiveWire Forum / Re: Well, now we know (S2 Mulholland)
« on: March 22, 2024, 07:02:35 AM »
I don't see that much difference from the Del mar.  Same front fender, similar seats, no knee pads.  That is what I was hoping for.  It is more $ than the Del mar, less known suspention name, less accelleration and top speed.  I hear it is hard to know how many have actually sold to customers but how many sold or shipped to dealers is out there.

I did call the closest Livewire dealer a few months back asking about it and how many extra fees there are on these things. He said they have a price that includes all the fees or that is the impression I got.  They did have a Del mar for test ride, but it was and still is winter.

I got 4.8 kw on board charger from their numbers.  I guess that is only a 2 year warranty.

General Discussion / Re: Ionna charging network news

It doesn't really say if they intend on having the actual charging spaces covered with a roof or if they intend on having them pull through for someone pulling a trailer.  Place to walk your dog makes a big difference for some.

General Discussion / Re: 900 Fast chargers per week?
« on: March 03, 2024, 06:29:25 PM »
How does it work with the pricing on these fast chargers.  With gasoline pumps they used to have to put numbers on top of the pump maybe 1 inch high but now there is a little window with the per gallon price some electric digit.  Sure, it can be plug and play if you have a card on file and the vehicle is recognized by the charger but what do you have to do to know how much it intends on charging your card.

General Discussion / Re: PG&E power rate increase rant
« on: February 25, 2024, 07:25:44 AM »
Just a bit more.  It is a motorcycle forum anyway.  When they made the electric company which is now Eversource, it was CL&P (Connecticut light and power) and maybe more in between divest their power plants the customer got the choice of choosing their supplier or have the electric company do it. This led to much tele marketing as other entities woud offer less price but only guarantee it for 6 months.  And there were (and are you are not locked in the way I understane it) eco-friendly generation company to choose from.  I think the end user is kind of insulated from the peak fees.  I just stayed with not picking a supplier.

I read on a sort of competing forum about I think it is in Washington state that has resevoirs and hydro generators.  They can pay well for electricity put back into the grid because it is essentially more water in their resevoir which they use to play the peak market as much as they can.  This will make other places expect the same treatment with any surpllus solar they might have during sunny times.  Last sentence my reasoning.

I was in Northwestern Ohio pretty close to indiana and saw lots of towers with wind turbines.  I tried to find out what it was on the intenet.  Best I can describe here is that they found a buyer for the electricity, it was an university and the amount they paid was to me shockingly small.  Quite likely that contract has ran out and they may will sell it somewhere else now.

How to get the dc from solar panels up to the high voltage lines on the poles along the road and get it in phase seems pretty hard to envision.  No one need try it is an electric motorcycle forum.

Edit:  In Ct say it costs $15 to be connected and have your meter read once a month.  Residential, overhead wires and transformers for each residence or a few residences per transformer for what difference that makes.  All other lines on the bill have a per kwh decimal fee, including the ones I am calling wealth redistribution.  Hope I am not in error not looking at a bill now.  There may and probably are ways if you are low income to have your bill somewhat different.

Double edit"  Gee Richard do you mean there isn't a seperate distribution charge and transmission charge like in Ct?  I am not like Don who keeps telling of all his houses and travels, but I do have a few meters fed by the Willow Island coal plant and now there is a low head hydro on the Ohio river, and it costs $6 a month to be hooked up and 11 cents per kwh.  Admittedly I have right of ways and poles with two wires the hot being the top one as the wires don't always follow the road.  Probably the ash dump is subsidized somehow.

It sure is an op-ed.

I went to Yahoofinance
https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/PCG/key-statistics
Does not look like a dividend stock to me.
This latest episode does not seem to have bumped the share price

Last Split Factor 2   2:1
Last Split Date 3   Jul 18, 1983
Was this even the same company in 1983?

Maybe you California folks should do like Connecticut and make the transmission and distribution completely seperate from the supply.  Then let the government add all the redistribution of wealth stuff in line items.

I get no hits when putting arig electric motorcycle in search

300V motor and controller, the motor delivers 25kW of rated power    sounds good

a electric motorcycle shared/public project.   sounds suspicious       electric begins with a voul so use an?

15kW battery,   sounds heavy but depending on the size and tires may be appropriate.

direct drive or reduction gear?  Hopefully not hub motor.

Are you copy and pasting this elsewhere?
