2011 Enertia pre-purchase inspection

(1/1)

NZmpr:
I'm weighing up buying a 2011 Brammo Enertia.
I'm in New Zealand, where this is probably the only Brammo in the whole country, so parts & support is zero, except via forums like this.

The bike is 4 hours from me, so I want to get as much info as possible before making that trip.

I've ridden several Zero's (2015 S, 2015 SR) and own a Nissan Leaf, so I understand about electric vehicles in general.
I've also ridden a moped class Super Soco.
Looking at the specs for the Enertia, it seems to be a bit better than a moped, but nothing like a Zero.

My requirements are : 20 mile round trip commute, most of which is open road 60 mph.

Is this bike a good candidate for that ?

Is there any way for me to assess the battery state of health ?

You can see photos of it here :

Asking price is $US4800 which I suspect it quite high.

Any opinions from the audience here would be appreciated.

Thanks

Brammofan:
Speaking as an admitted fanboy of Brammo, save yourself the time and don't bother. It's way overpriced. The range with wide open throttle, which is what you'll have to do to possibly reach 60mph, is about 15 miles, on a good day. There are no parts available, even on this forum, usually.

In other words, I advise against it.

NZmpr:
Thanks, appreciate your honesty.
Spoke with the seller yesterday, he has turned down offers of $US3500.
I think he's being a bit hopeful. Turns out he also owns a Zero and a HD of some sort.

Brammofan:
I run brammoforum.com and they are many folks hunting for parts. There is just no good place to get them from. I am selling my Enertia (which is in good running order) before it becomes a non-working paperweight.
