I have a 2011 Zero X that has recently developed throttle issues and has now stopped all together.  It has been fun the last 11 years.  I mostly used it to ride around my property.  Looking at all the projects I have, I am considering parting it out.   The question is what do we do with these old Lithium batteries?   I have thought about selling it, but there is no way to guarantee how much life it has left.  It could last weeks, months or years.   It has always been on the charger when not in use since 2011 and charges up fine and worked great until recent throttle issues.  Since Zero has abandoned these models, what is the thought process as they get older, in reference to the batteries?   If I decide to part it out, hopefully the X parts can keep other folks projects going on this forum.

I have a 2011 Zero X for sale.  I have owned this bike since 2012.  This is the off road version with no lights.   The battery has always been on the charger when not in use.   It runs great and I use it weekly to run around my property.  I have occasionally run it around the kart track as a supermoto also.  It currently has street tires on it and I also have the off road tires that came with it.  The bike has always been stored in my barn and never has been out in the rain.  I am selling this X so I can save up and eventually purchase a newer Zero.  The only thing to point out is there is a small cracked piece on the plastic, which happened before I purchased the bike.  I have that in the picture. No other damage or flaws on the bike.

The Zero is located in Baton Rouge, LA.   I travel and can probably meet the buyer somewhere in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.  Let me know and I am sure we can work something out.  I am asking $2500 OBO.   Post or PM me with any questions.

               Here are some pictures.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2012 and older / 2011 X vs MX
« on: December 18, 2014, 02:42:05 AM »
I am doing some upgrades to my 2011 X that I have been running in Supermoto.   I was doing some reading and never realized there may be some electronic differences between the X and MX from 2011.  I always thought it was suspension only.  It appears the batteries are the same but may have different motors?   Axial vs Radial?  Is one better then the other?  Are the controllers the same?  Thanks for any help as I make my X more competitive.

Buy Sell Trade / Wanted 2011 Zero X quick charge cable / Battery
« on: December 12, 2014, 06:39:42 AM »
I am looking for a 2011 Zero X quick charge cable.  The cable they show in the manual where you can connect two charges to cut in half the charging time.  I have contacted Zero with no luck and I no longer have a local dealer.  Any chance anyone has one sitting around they no longer want?  I wouldn't mind a second battery either if that is even an option.
