Title: next project: 2013 big motor & controller to a 2011 DS !!
Post by: Doctorbass on June 18, 2013, 03:52:20 AM
Yeah guys that's what i want to do!

Here is the components:

-Dual 4kWh battery  (The original and another splited in 3 parts , 1 in the place of the charger and 2 sides)
-Big 75-7 motor (same as for the zero S)
-Sevcon size 6 controller ( wil use it at 420A until the high amp battery upgrade will be finished)

I have put on hold my 84v  upgrade for the agni.

Since i have tried the 2013 FX and the zero S wich are my favorite i wnat to get that power but also to keep my 2011 ! I will have to use my skill to fit everything!

and... for those who wonder: Yes it will be possoble to fit the 75-7 motor to my 2011 !  ;)

I know you are the forums mad scientist Doc,  but would it not work out cheaper just to buy an FX?

Nope!... ;D

I already have the motorcycle it just need an upgrade with a real motor from 2013 technology! I am famillar with motor overpower abd brushed motor can not satisfy that need !!

Go doc go ! I'm trying to find an excuse and $10k to fit a water cooled ELMOFO battery pack and their insane motor.

Hey Doc, I'm pleased to know that you have figured out that the motor will actually fit.  8)

Awesome I look forward to this. I was wondering if I could do this to my 2012 DS ZF9

I've heard that the 75-7 motor is too large to fit in the 2012 chassis without some modification (but someone who knows can verify). The 75-5 motor is smaller, so it may or may not be able to slide in.

If you're open to modifying the frame then you can make whatever you want fit : )

The disadvantage is that the 75-* motors are really meant to operate at ~100V, not the 65V of our 2012 bikes. They would work fine, but there would not be much power increase over our 2012 motors .. assuming you're running a stock battery pack.

Nah!...  I will use dual 4kWh battery  in serie so i will get the 116V ( 28s)   ;)  The second battery will be split in 3 parts. one will go to the actual charger location and controller and the 2 other will go under the 2013 "gas tank" i have installed 8)

so i'll get 8kWh and a 75-X motor.. i am still not decided wich one, but i know that the 75-7 is  about 143mm deep and the shaft is around 30mm long for a total of 173mm deep :)  . the actual clearance between the two closer part that limit the deep for the motor is the swingarm pivot leg and the actual agni motor bracket and it's about 177mm(need to doublecheck) so the 75-7 should fit. it's just the questin about the bracket to slide the motor to adjust the belt tension sinc ethe 2012 and 2011 and 2010 rear axel is fixed position while the 2013 is adjustable

I don't think the swingarms have ever changed from the 2010 design except for the cutout in the cross tube to make room for a larger wheel. So the spacing between swingarm pivots should be the same from 2010 through 2013. I could be wrong but they sure look the same.
