Title: Australian RVCS Certification Unit Details

Australian RVCS Certification Unit Details

I doing some searching about ADR approval for importing Zero motorcycle and came across this.

RVCS allows vehicle manufacturers to electronically certify that the vehicles that they supply to the Australian market meet prescribed safety standards specified in the Australian Design Rules (ADRs). The system allows lodgement of test data using electronic forms software and is administered by the Vehicle Safety Standards Branch (VSS).

great - seems some paperwork has been done for the 2012 S and DS models. Seating capacity "1" - hmm, not to good that one.

I just want them to do same for 2013 model, hope zero starts importing, but we need this approval if we going to import ourselves.

great for QLD we have single seat rego, about half the cost of normal rego, I always converted my bike to single seat rego.
involes reduce seat length to 500mm or remove pillion seat and remove footpegs and mounts. then you get it approved and a single seat mod plate riveted to your bike.

one has to love Australia - only 20mil people and each state with different rules and regulations. There might be one were they drive on the other side of the road ? Tasmania ?  :)
As for NSW state checked as I re-did my rego for 2011S this week and ask for cost of a two seat - no difference. Paid $121 for 12 months including youngest rider 30yrs 5yrs license etc. seems to be the lowest price one can get. My other bike costs much more to register.

I might have to look in to doing a private import

That is good news, even if zero dont do dealers in Australia, with the certificate it should make compliying with ADR etc a lot easy if we do import directly from Zero.

here are S & DS models
