Yep. The NT dealer still had a DSR too, but no FXS' or FX's that are tard-able.

Pretty gutted to get that email the other day too. After selling the SR when I moved at the start of the year I'd been eyeing off an FXS since.

I did a call around the dealers today, but none had any stock left. On the off chance anyone knows of any available FXS' (either new or anyone looking to sell due to Zero's exit) I'd love to know. Otherwise, looks like I'll have to wait until the new import laws, which at least opens up an Alta Redshift as an option too.

Hey guys, I've just sold my SR. I'll likely remain non-Zero until either my charging options, or achievable range changes. I'm about to move and unfortunately what's possible does not align with where I'd like to ride for fun, and need to ride for transport.

With that being said, it's unlikely I'll be make any further updates to this.

So that the project is not orphaned, is there anyone who would be interested in becoming the new maintainer of this on GitHub?

Sold.

Just knocked a little off the price as I'm getting close to my move date.

Yep, that's the one. Found it at that car dealership in Sydney with 600km on it, then trucked it down to Melbourne and found out it had a faulty MBB, which got replaced. It has 11,313km on it today.

Hi all, I know there's always a few long term lurkers / potential owners here (I was one) so wanted to put something up here before exposing it to the wider world.

After months of deliberation I've decided to part ways with my SR. I'm about to move state and no matter what way I rig it I can't get available charging infrastructure to align with my transport requirements, and also need to scale back the number of bikes I own.

The bike is fitted with the power tank (extended battery), R&G tail tidy, billet bar-end mirrors, custom grips, LED headlight, Metzeler M7RR's front and rear and has been blacked out (Plastidip - needs a reapplication though). I don't cheap out on parts. I've also got the non-charge tank plastics, a complete set of new (as in still in box) black plastics (tank, front fender, upper+lower tail) from Zero that I haven't had time to fit, and a collection of logs from new.

I'm looking to get ~AU$17.5k AU$16k for it, but happy to negotiate if it'll end up with someone who will really get to use and enjoy it. Swing me a DM here or you can find me at kim@simple.industries.

Hey Swiebo, can you drop me that log file in a PM?

Awesome! Looking great so far. Would be keen to hear / see a full list of changes when you're done.

Try that now. I was doing something stupid that python 2 let me get away with when it shouldn't have.

Hi guys, haven't had a chance to post here / have a look at this for a while. It was summer so most spare time was spent out on a bike. That being said it's now back to crappy, cold, wet winter in my part of the world... so updates, yay!

Thanks to an awesome pull request from rDacted (who cracked an encoding used on the event entries) there's an updated parser that provides a bunch more useful info. It now also handles situations where you're log file wraps around the maximum log length and starts overwriting itself.

This is successfully decoding most of the sample logs I have on hand. I do have two that are breaking it though. Not sure if this is corruption of the logs themselves or something still missing in the log file format. If you happen try your decoding your log file and it does't work with the current version it'd be awesome if you can drop me a copy of the *.bin and when I have a few I'll see what I can do to unbreak it.

Oh also, I know a few people have been trying this on the BMS logs too. Currently this is untested and will likely (/almost certainly) not work.

Yep it sucks. There's some awesome resources spread around this forum, but things would be so much nicer if Zero provided:

1. service manual accessible to us unwashed masses
2. user accessible software toolkit for log decoding and firmware upgrades

Sure, you probably don't want people messing with the MBB etc -- same as ECU's on dino juice machines are (generally) not played with extensively, but for those of us who maintain our own machines (either through want or need) these tools are invaluable.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: Tail removal
« on: May 02, 2016, 04:58:00 PM »
Ok, so my new black fairings have arrived and I'm stuck with this tail removal again. I had been running with red underneath until now, but that's got to change.

The bottom of the tail fairing is wedged between the tail light and the subframe. From the best I can tell, you need to remove the tail light, which will then allow removal of the plastic surround the runs down the side of the Sevcon next to the seat. I've tried removing the 2 x torx screws directly on the back of the tail light but this doesn't create any movement so I'm almost certain it's the 2 x hex nuts that sort of come up from underneath (position circled in the attached photos).

The problem is, these ain't budging - I've had an long allen key with an equally long lever I rigged up on these and it's just bending. I get the feeling these might have similar amounts of locktite on them to my original seat bolt (which had to be drilled out). As they go into the (plastic) tail light getting some heat into them is going to cause things to melt. Before I commit to this (and possibly a new tail light), can anyone confirm this is definitely the way to get this freaking tail section off?

I'm running a Metzeler M5 110/70 up front and an Metzeler M7RR 150/60 on the rear. No complaints.
