Title: Breakdown Zero S 2016
Post by: lt_courgette on February 14, 2020, 02:14:14 AM
Hi everyone,

Tonight on my way home from work, I had a problem with my zero:

Just before there was no power in the handle, the green light started blinking and the screen went blank.

I tried to activate the bike's bluetooth to retrieve the logs, but it didn't work.

It's leaving tomorrow for the garage, I'm really annoyed, it's out of warranty :(.

Have you ever seen this problem on your Zeros ?

BR.

There's a chart for the flash codes in the manual.

I've only seen this when I overheated/exhausted the battery.  The bike is trying to tell you what type of power issue it's having.

I tried to look at the chart in the manual for flashes, but I couldn't find a match.

Thank you for your response.

Sorry to see that you're having this kind of problem. Have you tried the key on and roll forward a foot or two trick? 100% uncertain if that would do anything.

after checking out the manual again, doesn't that look like error flashing #9? BMS Throttle Disable? Could also explain your lack of throttle at the handle.

I'm hesitating with 11.

Three flashes, pause, three flashes.

But the 9 would explain the lack of power in the handle.

Mine did that a few times.

Controller was fried. Overall failure symptoms were erratic and would change. Even had the bike run fine for short periods. Still, controller dead, irreparable. Changed controller, all good. Big symptom is that the bike refused to stay functional long enough for me to download any logs.

Hope that's not it on yours

Did you change it? Do you remember the price of the coin? The motorcycle's out of warranty :/

Do you mean the non-battery components are out of warranty? I would still take it to a dealer and see what the cost is. Sometimes Zero HQ will work with you...

Last news from my dealer, the MBB card is hs.

the technician see with Zero for repair or exchange free, but my Zero is of 2016, so very poor chance.

I search on internet an approximative price, but i dont found anything.

They were able to swap out my 2014 S MBB just a few months ago.  I'm sure the part is available.

Well, they broke it, so they fixed it free.

That doesn't really apply to your situation, though.
