Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Scorpio Ride on Zero FX?
« on: July 09, 2015, 05:44:29 PM »
A little late to the party I came across the Scorpio Ride system yesterday. Looks the core system plugs into the OBD port with additional battery leads.

I'm mostly interested in it for ride tracking but also for the tire pressure monitoring. By chance anyone hooked one of these up to their Zero? And on that note - any reason I won't be able to convert a sumitomo connection to a pair of direct leads?

thanks!

While charging a Zero?! I thought it was pulling less than 10a?

Definitely sounds like it's worth the $50 to give it a try then, thanks for your help!

I was considering one of those but saw very mixed reviews on Amazon. I'm not interested in their whole line of home automation - just a few of the same socket monitors you're using.

- How long have you been using it?
- Do you need to be on the same network to see the data or does it get pushed to cloud?

Thanks!

@nigezero - that system looks like what I was hoping to find. Looks like Wattwatchers builds them for OEM to brand and sell?

I'd settle for a per-circuit accounting if nothing else. Seems like something the local electric could offer as an upgrade.

Yeah the horns make all the electric PPH videos tough to watch. It's a shame they didn't integrate a warning system into the roadbed when put it in!

@JasonS - That's exactly the info I was looking for! I read up for a bit yesterday and it looks like the only consumer connected options that fit my needs are the Belkin WeMo Insight - but those get seriously spotty reviews on Amazon and as such I'm not thinking it'd be good to pull 10a through it.

Looks like the kill-a-watt with NVM is what I'll end up with to track the bike consumption!

thanks again -

Jason

I've got to get my own Kill-a-watt. Any suggestions on the right model? And any chance they have a connected version I could monitor via wi-fi or BT?

And with that I'll go and do my own googling - just thought I'd throw it out here...

+1 on the jacket - I was slightly miffed at the time as I already have plenty of leather gear but the Zero jacket is far superior to the Alpinestars leather I've had for a few years.

Needless to say the Alpinestars jacket will be going up for cheap on eBay soon - the Zero jacket is higher quality with a better fit on my medium frame.

Haven't had a chance to mess with the charger. I don't plan to use it on the bike but instead will snag a charger adapter and use it to charge one of my FX modules off-bike while I'm running the other one down in the dirt.

My swag showed up this week - others saw theirs a few weeks ago.

They're trickling out but if you didnt get an email you should reach out to Zero I think.

Anyone know where to find the front flasher or better what type it is for a clean upgrade to LED in the front?

Awesome project! Is it just the drivetrain from an FX or were you able to use other oem components?
