I don't know, I've never actually tried it, but I read from the manual that the bike is designed specifically to run on one battery while you charge the other one, and then do the swap (designed for motocross, even if the cycling is not up to par)

hi, but could it be a bad contact on one of the two batteries? I noticed that when I drill the holes it makes a lot of hair, you can actually hear it slamming into the support. Doesn't maybe moving around a bit lead to having a false contact every now and then? Because the autonomy drops by 50% and then goes back up by 50%, so it is precisely one of the two batteries that comes and goes.
Thank you

Hi everyone, I have a 2015 Zero FX with 12,000 km that I use very little lately. it is equipped with 2 batteries and a few years ago under torrential rain and with a cold battery, it happened that the bike suddenly went to zero soc and stopped, while a few seconds before it was around 30% soc

then I put it on charge and it started to rise to 1%, then 2% and so on and when I was around 20% I stopped charging because it was already enough to get me home, when I turned it back on it showed 70 % SoC, just as if half the battery had been deactivated and then reactivated.

he hasn't played this joke on me for years, but as said I don't use the bike much, then yesterday it happened again. it seems that the problem occurs when it is cold, while when it is hot because it is used or recharged everything works normally.

What could it depend on and how to resolve it? Has this happened to anyone else too?
in terms of autonomy compared to 2015 it seems almost unchanged: yesterday I took a reference that I had taken 8 years ago and in which I arrived with 84% of SoC, and yesterday I also reached 84%. Thank you

hi, but once the encoder has been replaced, is it possible to recalibrate it independently? because if you still have to go to Zero, who will then want to change your engine, there's little point in replacing the encoder yourself, right?
Can disconnecting the fuse for the engine and battery for 20 minutes help? I say at this stage, what if that could be causing the problem, or if it can be of any use after changing the encoder?
And if I had to change the engine, would it be enough to buy a new one and put it in place of the current one or is there anything else to do? If so, do you know where you can buy it online and at some cost? If I found it used, maybe it would be worth it but I don't know if that's possible.
Thanks so much for any help

hello, and how can you be sure that the problem is that? and how to solve it if it is? consider that we don't have any zero dealers in our city, nor in neighbouring cities
let me know, any advice can be invaluable
thanks

hello everyone,
I took my zero fx to my trusted mechanic, who does thermal motorbikes, to have him change the sprocket and also the handlebars, because I had bent them. Now there's the problem that the bike, even without the pinion gear fitted, when you turn the throttle the engine doesn't go forward: it just vibrates slightly backwards and forwards but doesn't turn. Any idea what's wrong and how to solve it?
Thanks

no, it goes and doesn't go at times: last week it didn't work for me 3 times during the day and on the 4th it did. Then I tried yesterday and it worked right away, so I unplugged it and cleaned with air thinking the problem might be some dust, then I tried again and it didn't work anymore.
In reality it then always recharges, only it doesn't tell me the recharge time on the dashboard and I have to leave the bike on: when everything works, it gives me the remaining time and I can turn off the bike.
I don't understand what it depends on, but it's the bike because I also have another zero and that one never gives this problem.
Could it help to spray some contact cleaner spray on the DC connector? I had done it in the past, but then the doubt arose that a little dirt could form, and I wouldn't want that too to have caused the problem, so I then blew with compressed air

HI,
I agree with the internal charger, but in reality I use the internal one very little, only when I come back unloaded from a ride and to calmly bring the bike back to 85%, then I only use the external charger to charge 100% for 3 or 4 times before returning to recharge with the internal one.
But the two should be separate and distinct, right? Having internal OBC with this issue shouldn't affect the external fast loader issue, right?

Hi everyone,
a little while ago I went down to the garage: plugged the bike in, connected the charger cable and the bike showed something on the display: then turned on the bike and it started charging indicating the timer, then I turned it off and it continued to charge , all ok then.

then I disconnected it for a moment, I blew with the compressor on the DC socket of the bike and a bit of dust came out. I then repeated the charging procedure but it no longer worked, i.e. it charged regularly but without indicating the remaining time and only with the bike running.

I don't know what to think: but do you think it could perhaps depend on the internal charger of the bike which has stopped at 85% for some time? it no longer goes 100% with the internal slow charger, but it does regularly with the extended DC charger. I don't know!? I don't know what to think or even how to solve it, there's no dealer here: who could figure it out? Thank you

yes, I think so too , but how to solve? strange then that we did it 3 times the problem and instead at the 4th time everything ok.
the main problem is that I have to leave the bike on while charging, with the lights on which in the long run melts the headlight: is there no way to turn them off? maybe I could turn off one of them, the high beam, so that I can keep the lights off while charging? a fuse be the culprit or help to solve the problem?

11
sorry, a translation error: I meant to say that it is not a problem with the fast charger, since on another identical bike it always works regularly. Thank you

12
HI,
and how can you try to fix it? It's not a magazine problem because I have a second Zero FX and it doesn't cause problems there.
I tried spraying some contact fluid on the DC socket of the bike but I don't think it changed much, maybe I can try blowing on it with the compressor?

hello everyone,
a strange thing happened to me yesterday: i connected the zero fx 2018 to the fast charger, but it didn't show the remaining time anymore. tried in AC and instead everything ok. The problem is also that if I turn off the bike it doesn't charge anymore, I had to keep it on all the time risking to burn the headlights.
during the day we did 4 recharges, and the first 3 gave this problem while at the 4th it magically started working again as usual, i.e. in DC it showed the time remaining and recharging continued without problems even after turning off the bike. What is it due to and how to solve to make sure it doesn't happen again? Thank you

Hi everyone, I am getting more and more breakage and loss of spokes in the wheel of the bike, a 2015 Zero FX and especially in the front wheel. Going to my old mechanic, he told me that they are an unusual size and are hard to find (or at least he couldn't). So do you know where they can be found or if they are the same as some other more popular motorcycle models? Thanks

Hello everyone,
yesterday in a fall off-road I bent the front brake lever: clear that it can be straightened, already done other times, but while I'm at it I would like to change it with a shorter one, so that it is more difficult for it to bend. Do you know where you can find some such lever that is compatible with the bike? Thanks
