Mine will not charge the bike at all and the charge target is currently disabled.
When plugged in, it brings the console up and displays 0% charge and after a minute or so, turns off the console and is like nothing happened.
The red battery icon comes up after connecting the charger but I replaced this battery yesterday, as the original was down to 10 volts and it was over two years old already.
The new one came fully charged:I checked that before installing it.

The SoC is reading 0%. The bike has auto-disabled but the headlight, horn, blinkers, etc, all work fine.
I think the charge level is not 0% but something is causing it to read wrong (bike was at 70% or so when this all started)
I suspect the charger bit the dust but I don't know if there is a way to check it with a volt meter. I do get the change from 150 to 480 Ohms when pressing the lock release on the J1772 and the two pins in the connector.

Looks like this is going to be a dealer thing but thought to check and see if anyone has had a charger go bad in this fashion.

Edit: Not 22K miles, actually, 2200 miles)

Happened a couple of hours ago on a city street perfectly paved and totally clean of loose gravel and such. NOT good I say!
Was waiting at the light and when green, gave it about 20/25% throttle and after the bike moved a few feet, it just broke and that is all she wrote.
It did propel me to the other side of the intersection but it certainly is not an experience I care to repeat.

Precisely to avoid this, I baby-sat that belt like if my life depended on it and had it perfectly aligned (the small gap on the shoulder side of the cog wheel) and on the lower end of the scale using the Gates app Carbon Drive to adjust the tension.
I weigh 175lbs in street clothes and only had my helmet extra this morning as it was a very nice morning.
Just checked about a week ago and all was very clean and well. Then this non-sense happens >:(

So, I will not trust another belt regardless. Have had enough of that plus what I have read on this forum itself for the last couple of years.
Now, I too, am one of the unlucky ones that have had belt failures.

After searching this forum I found no reference to a specific conversion of an SR/F to chain: Just the pros and cons and some thoughts and comments on doing it.

I am thinking to remove the sprocket and cog wheel and take it --more likely, send it-- to a very high-end facility (super-duper machine shop) where not only they can make it a perfect fit but also use the correct materials when making the 2 parts.

I know it won't be cheap but I don't care if the work is done right and I can ride the bike without the fear of this happening again.

Can anybody recommend a place with the know-how and the equipment to make these 2 parts?

Or maybe there is a kit out there that my searches failed to find

TIA

My SR/F updated yesterday to firmware 18 without a glitch.
Went to the firmware version information page to see what is new but they haven't  updated it yet.

It would be very nice if the page is updated as the new versions are released.
Anybody from Zero reading this?

I know there are several ways to align the rear wheel  and was wondering if anyone can share the way his/her dealer did it.
Was it with a string?
A straight edge?
A caliper type measuring gizmo?
Some high-tech laser thingy?
None of the above?

I got mine done recently but did not watch the mechanic and according to my test, it is a bit off but I am not sure if I  should change it.

Took my SR/F to the dealer for the 600 mi service and they were not able to do the motor recommission today.
The local mechanic said he had done them before on his own and tried but for some reason could not finish it

They tried calling Zero but no one was available to assist. This was at 10:30AM Eastern time and they claimed Zero offers support starting at 7:00AM.
We waited until 11:30 to see if someone would call back but they never did.

Now, I have to go back to the dealer once they discuss what was the problem and Zero offers some suggestions to the mechanic that will try again.
Happy I live a 15 minutes ride from the dealer but it is bizarre my bike is behaving differently that the other ones he has done previously.

We'll see how this unfolds.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Bullet Brake device works well
« on: July 26, 2019, 07:33:34 PM »
Received my Brake-Bullet yesterday after only 2 days and installed it right away.
Installation is quite simple and only takes a few minutes.
The BB-01 is the model that fits the SR/F.

Watched the installation video on their web site and gathered that after finger-tight, the device should be tightened "6 flats" (One turn)
Then, bleeded the line at the bleed point on the master cylinder and got the air out. Did it at the calipers too but saw no air bubbles there whatsoever.

Seems to work fine: left it engaged last night and this morning the bike still would not move. Looked for leaks and saw none but I know is too soon to rule that out completely.

Finished installing the handlebar this weekend. Biggest delay was getting it powder coated but it was worth it waiting: The shop was able to match the sheen of the original bar perfectly and gave it an extra-thick coat. Very pleased with that side of the project.
Does the bike look good after the mod? I cannot say it does but I CAN say it feels perfect and is a pleasure to ride now (even with my aching back).

In all, in addition to the bar, all I had to buy was:
A set of shims from 7/8 to 1 1/8 for the clamp      https://tboltusa.com/store/brp-18-to-78-handlebar-adapters-p-10682.html
A brake line 5" longer than the original                 https://www.denniskirk.com/magnum-shielding/black-pearl-designer-series-abs-upper-brake-line-35-10mm-21-in-as47121.p1910487.prd/1910487.sku
A 90 degrees side-sweep banjo                          https://classictube.com/product/brake-hose-fitting-an-3-3-8-10mm-x-1-0-x-3an-3-8-24-90-degree-side-sweep-chrome/
A pack of low profile zip ties (identical to what the bikes comes with from Zero)           https://www.ebay.com/itm/263496642855

I found a local shop with a CNC pipe bender and they made me a customized bar from 7/8" steel pipe.

Since the wiring is long enough to reach, there was no need to extend them: Just re-route slightly some of the cables from the behind the headlight area in a more direct way to where they go.

Had to drill 5 holes in the handlebar: 2 (for the heated grip on the left side) require 4 MM thread. The other three are just to "receive" the locator pin built into the control component attached to the bar and prevent slippage.

Yes, it was a lot of work having to remove all those parts around the headlamp, the "tank" itself and draining the brake fluid and recharging it, but I sure am glad I did as this will allow me to enjoy the machine a lot more than before.
Do I truly like the bike's look now? Not completely: The bar looks too retro and old but if that is what it takes to sit straight and be comfortable, I can live with that.
The good news is this is a non-destructive mod: I can restore the original bar and put everything back the way it was in just a few hours. I would not have done otherwise.

I finally went on ride after dark and the console was so bright that it was distracting.
I checked the settings and it was set to Auto and high contrast.
Somehow I don't think the auto dimming feature is working.

Is it just mine or are they others having this issue too?

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / SR/F current firmware version
« on: July 03, 2019, 04:22:31 PM »
Question for the folks that have received their new SR/F in the last few days:

What firmware version does it show when you check the console?
Mine came with V5 and a couple of days later, when I turned the key --on my way home from work-- it notified me that an update was available.
I postponed it until I got home and then ran it. Took about 20 minutes and said it was successful but it still shows V5 when I check.

Mine was a dealer demo built in April and I am wondering if version 5 is also what the recently-built units come with. Not sure mine actually took the update.

Wondering if the few owners that have received delivery of their new SR/F can confirm if Zero has corrected or not the unsightly tank lid gap that the early units suffered from.
I can't wait to have mine fixed as it is the only part that just does not fit right on the whole bike!
There were rumors that there would be a dealer program to eventually fix this but someone claimed Zero did not acknowledge those intentions.

I am willing to pay for the parts to fix it if it comes to that as I removed the whole thing and was unable to modify the hinges or the mount point to make it fit right, because the shape of the lid does not allow for lowering it and still open smoothly.

Hi folks, new to the EV world and this forum :-)

Getting my SR/F delivered today. Had to go several states over to get a dealer demo and found one with 50 miles on it in the North East.
Hoping I don't get a unit with bugs requiring more than a firmware upgrade to resolve but really gambling here.

Anyways, downloaded the manual and read the whole thing. Reading the belt tension Zero recommends, was surprised to see 51 to 102 kg, --page 6.27-- as several sources, including a YouTube for another model, list 25 kg (20 to 30 range).
Do the SR/Fs have a drastically different belt I wonder?

I just find hard to believe the increase in tension (unless the previous recommendation was too loose) and wanted to get the community's feel for this.
A bit concerned about setting it too high, as I know it increases the stress on the bearings on both ends of the belt and some people report noises when set too high.
