Title: Sevcon handheld calibrator
Post by: rayivers on October 29, 2015, 06:33:29 PM
Does anyone have any experience with, or input on this device?

This place rents them for $50/week, and sells them too (http://www.thunderstruck-ev.com/sevcon-gen4-hand-held-calibrator.html)

This looks really cool ... I wonder which items wouldn't be adjustable with it though (like can you add a new pin assignment and adjust the settings for something like a footbrake if it wasn't previously programmed with the DVT)

I paid nearly as much as the device for my IXXAT with some support attached ...

Depending what this can do it might be worth having one ;) But if the description is a very accurate one it might not be able to adjust pin assignments the way I would like to.

If it could create and write throttle curves, I'd be real happy with it on a rental basis.  It would also be cool to adjust battery current limits, but maybe that's a BMS thing.

Every item in the object dictionary can be changed with the device. I have a Clearview display and can use it to program the controller. It's a lot harder than the DVT software.  I wouldn't want to try to change the throttle curve with just this but I think it could be done.

See the manual here. https://www.thunderstruck-ev.com/images/Clear%20View%20Display%20user%20manual.pdf
