Hi, this bike can wheelie easily. It is a matter of timing between throttle and pulling the handlebar. See below

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Rear hand brake
« on: April 29, 2018, 11:14:02 PM »
Hello I wanted to share my rear hand brake setup.

It has a great feeling and I can activate the ABS with one finger.

I used a clutch master cylinder DOT4 compatible from AJP (reference 650.00.302) with a 9.5 mm piston.
I simply disconnected the foot master cylinder from the ABS block and connected the hand master cylinder instead.
To make the bleeding easier I injected brake fluid from the caliper with a big syring up to the master cylinder.
In wanted to reuse the pressure sensor that is mounted on the foot master cylinder (built in the banjo screw) but the thread is M10x1.25 mm and I have M10x1 mm on both my hand master cylinder and the original J.Juan rear caliper.
This sensor is used to activate the rear light when braking.

Nice video, are you from Toulouse area ?

How different are the KTM and the FX
? Can you film a drag race between the two ?

Interesting. We can imagine an option in the zero application shutting down the bike if the Bluetooth connection is lost

It is only in USA that people have guns. I would rather fight or run as long as the thief doesn't left with my bike.

You can't just call your insurance and get a refund, you need proofs.

Exactly, the purpose is to avoid a bike jacking.

Thank you for this solution ctrlburn, I did not thought about it.
Most of the device I find on the web are "normally open" circuits.
Do you know if the handlebar kill switch is a normally open circuit as well so it would be possible to connect it in parallel ?

I am talking about the kind of device you attach to yourself with a string to shut down the bike if you are ejected from it. See below :

Hello,
Does anyone know where to connect a safety kill switch on Zero bikes ?

That would be the best solution.
Another way is to remove the foot brake and connect directly the handbrake to the caliper.

In any case beware of the master cylindre piston size. 13 mm will be too big : hard to press.
To have the same feeling than the front brake you have to respect the same surface ratio : master piston surface / caliper pistons surface = 0.088
That means your rear hand brake must have a piston around 10 mm.

The power decreases from 75°C at 11kW before decreasing even more when reaching 100°C.

I am sure some of you know very well the hardware of those bikes. Any clue on the motor temperature sensor type ?

They precised the Main Bike Board and the wirings are different to prevent reprogrammation, unfortunately.

« on: September 24, 2017, 09:27:17 PM »
Hello,
In France you can buy special versions of the S, DS, FX and FXS limited to 11kW of continuous power (the peak power does not change).
Due to the reglementation you can ride these bikes with only a car driving licence (as 125cm3 bikes).
Therefore it is easier to find second hand 11 kW models than classic ones as I want to buy a Zero.

I read that Zero only changed the temperature limit from 100°C to 75°C before the motor goes in overheated mode to restrict the continuous power.

Is the temperature sensor a thermistor ? Where is it located ?
Is it possible to add a resistor in serie with the temperature sensor to put back the limit to 100°C ?

Thanks for any help you can provide.
