Great! I purchased my DSR 4/30/2016 and have yet to receive my Fuel for Life card despite calling them multiple times.  Each time they act like they don't know whom I am but I assume the dealer lets them know who is purchasing their bikes for warranty purposes. The last time they asked me to text my VIN to them for some reason.  I'll keep trying.

My dealer did not charge me to install the charge tank.  It appears the install cost is included in the price of the unit.  And yes it appears difficult to install and involves connecting with Zero's computer to make sure it is operating properly.  Cheers!

What warranty registration?  I didn't get any warranty paperwork to fill out.  I've never bought a new vehicle from a dealer and had to send in warranty registration before.  Now I am confused.

Anyone have difficulty getting their Fuel for Life card?  I purchased my 2016 DSR from my local dealer 4/30 during the original offer.  I picked the bike up 5/16.  I had yet to hear from Zero last week so I called them and they acted like they had no record of my purchase.  Asked me who my dealer was and told me they needed my VIN to confirm the purchase.  Since these bikes are sold on an order only basis for the most part I would think they would know who purchased the bike they sent to my dealer.  So I texted them the VIN a week ago and have heard nothing further.   :-\

Here is my 2016 DSR charging at the local grocery store (Fred Meyer for those of you from the NW) Blink charge station.  I am only a Blink guest but could have saved nearly 25% BY being a member.  Left the bike for under an hour and went from 52% TO 98% charge.  Cost was $2.45. Cheers! 8)

Just picked up my 2016 DSR after dealer installed the charge tank.  Took a couple days for them to complete the job (2nd one they have installed).  No dealer charge so install charge must be included in the price of the charge tank.  The main issue is that I now have a complete "tank" body piece that I don't need.  I agree with the sentiment that Zero should be installing these at the factory if people order them at the same time they order the bike.  Haven't used it yet, will report back soon. ;D

My charge tank is sitting at the dealer and will be installed next Wednesday.  This will be the first one they have installed.  They think I can wait while they install it.   ;D

I've seen several posts on tools needed to work on the Zero.  I would recommend a standard wrench and socket set including socket allen head and torx wrench sets.  However I was thinking, what don't I need to work on this bike.  Let's see, oil filter wrench, spark plug wrench, feeler gauges (anyone remember these?), chain tool, oil drain pan (and receptacles for the oil).  What else, transmission fluid, chain oil, clutch oil.  Carb tools. What about a timing light? (not every modern motorcycle has fuel injection and a computer control module.  My 2014 Suzuki DL650 is using state of the art 1996 technology.  Despite the hype for high tech ADV bikes many around the world travelers recommend getting the most simplest ICE bike you can find so you can fix it in Bolivia.)   
            Anything I forgot?
            It many ways working on the Zero is like working on a bicycle (except that a voltmeter might be needed).  As an ex-bicycle mechanic I've always enjoyed working on bicycles due to the fact they are cleaner and simpler machines.  However bicycles take many specialized tools to work on them (cassette remover, crank remover, pedal wrenches, headset wrenches, cable stretcher, third hand, etc).  It appears Zero might have leap frogged the bicycle industry in some ways.  My next commuter bicycle will probably have a Gates belt drive and internal geared hub. There are even CVT hubs out there for bicycles.   ::)

I forgot one step.  If you are the average motorcycle mechanic then the rack install will involve drinking 3 beers.  ! to get started, 1 after you take the seat off to ponder the complexity of the machine and its wiring and then 1 when you are done to congratulate yourself on a job well done.  Depending on your speed then this will add 1-15 minutes to the install.  The GIVI top case mount is probably a 2 beer job so get a six pack just to be safe. Cheers! 8)

Super easy to install the rack.  Remove the two torx bolts (2 minutes), take the seat off (20 seconds) and fit the rack over the fender and the front mounting holes (these will be under the seat).  Screw the two supplied allen head bolts in (1-2 minutes) then refit the seat (30 seconds) and put the torx bolts in and tighten them down (3 minutes).  The GIVI universal top case mounting plate is also very easy to install and gives you multiple positioning options.

Got my top rack for my 2016 DSR.  There were no instructions with it but install was simple.  Remove the seat (unscrew the torx bolts on either side, not the allen head bolts).  Pull the seat off and fit the frack over the bike frame (remember to install the rubber number where the rack rests on the rear fender).  Two small allen head bolts go through the frame holes then replace the seat and screw the torx bolts back in through the rear rack frame (see pix).  To install any GIVI box get the universal monokey (part E251) top case plate and mount it as shown in the photo.  It uses 4 bolts with clamps that will fit any rack almost.  I went with the bigger V46 top case as I have used this on a variety of bikes and for me gives the best size/function ratio.  Cheers! ;D

I don't have mine yet either (ordered 4/30/2016).  When I talked with Zero last week they told they thought they would still be shipping this month and that hasn't happened.  Hopefully they will ship soon as I had to prepay for mine (something I rarely do).   :-\

I'm sure there is a wide range of dealer experiences out there but I hope Zero takes feedback on their dealer network.  My dealer is a large 2 shop dealer that sells Yamaha and Suzuki as well as Zero.  Going out there for a test ride was super easy.  They had all the models available and let me go out and test ride wherever I wanted.  It was great.  Super friendly and knowledgeable sales guy as well.  However they were completely unaware of the "Fuel for Life" promotion. 
So I ordered a DSR with $3000 down and financing in place.  3 days later I was told it had shipped and should be there in a couple of days.  Never got a phone call letting me know the bike arrived.  Mind you I was super busy working so it didn't matter.  Finally after 2 weeks I call and they tell me the bike has been sitting there ready to go.   Now since getting the bike I've been trying to order a couple of Zero accessories.  I've called both stores and the parts people at both told me they would have to "research" where to get the parts and would get back to me.  Never happened.  Finally I got hold of the parts person and he wanted the parts number to get the parts.  It's not like I am ordering a brake cylinder for an obscure 1990's Suzuki model.  IfI I have to do all the groundwork I should then just order from Zero themselves.  :(
