Title: 28t 2013 DS on 2012 DS
Post by: eyeinsky on July 13, 2014, 01:04:51 AM
I was wondering if any one has tried the higher gear with the 28t 2013 drive pulley instead of the 25T stock pulley. Any data?

Cheers Jerry

I have a 28 on my DS.

What are you interested in?

I have done it after I used the Size6, but the stock bike should run like a S (instead of the better bodywork ;) of a DS)

What's the top speed and hows the range?

Thanks Jerry

The DS will be like the S (88mph)

http://www.zeromotorcycles.com/zero-ds/2012/specs.php (http://www.zeromotorcycles.com/zero-ds/2012/specs.php)

We have the "110/90-16" rear wheel instate of the "130/70-17" but the perimeter is quite equal.

The range is a difficult question. I have installed the windscreen at the same time so it is hard to answer.

I guess the range is a bit better for me because we have 100km/h on the federal highway and as much as I see the original DS gearing will reach the battery voltage at ~80-90km/h. With higher speed the motor works in field-weakening and I guess this will be not the highest efficiency mode for the motor.
