Valance, A123, Advanced Battery Technologies and Ener1 report earnings this week.

I don't think anyone in the EV manufacturing chain is going to get rich making EVs at this early stage of the market - unless oil suddenly becomes scarce, like happened in 1974.

The other problem they will have until the market matures, is the "rubber-banding" effect, where the market and technology will result in constant shortages and then over-supply of batteries and EV specialized equipment - until the market finally levels off to something predicable year after year. My guess is that it is going to take a long time for things to settle down. Just think about the computer industry and the advances that are made every year. Not much settling-down there.
