I can't tell you what the minimum requirement would be, however one of the 7.2kW/h Zeros would easily do that and still get you there at a reasonable rate. I think I've had mine down to sub 20% and still been able to get up to 60mph.

I was considering getting a street legal electric motorcycle, but wondering, what all specs would one need if they want to make sure the bike will still hit 60 or 65mph with a battery that's half dead?  I'm like 5'7" 175lb

Id make sure you got a good charge on it and let it do it's thing and get a nice balance at the top end and you should be fine.  I have Energica bikes and while they won't let you stomp them up to full speed, you can still reach it, albeit quite a bit slower than when they got a better charge on them.

Thanks Aaron, I think this might also have to do with software. On my "old" 2019 SR/F I only get to use 15.6 kWh from it, less considering nominal vs. usable capacity.

The TC and ABS are both indicated using the same lights. IIRC the bike uses a TC-like system to mimic ABS on regen so it's likely that's what you're seeing indicated.

I dunno about the aggressiveness though, that's kinda weird, most likely issue is a sensor problem. If it's not too much of a logistical problem I'd take it back to the shop and say "after you did some work this is happening" and see what they say.

Hi,

I once read here that someone brought his ss9+ up to the performance of the ribelle (126kw). I would be interested to know if this is possible with a pure software update or whether it takes more efforts.
Thaks in advance for all info and comments.

Uli

Hello all,
2023 SS9 in Denver Co. I just got FW 43 and chain/sprocket set. I have traction control set to 1 but I can turn it off with the same results. I have my regen set to the strongest, dont like using the brakes when I dont need to..
Symptoms
When Im above 30 mph and let off on the throttle, in any conditions or scenarios the traction control lights flash quite often and I have regen sputters at about 10% of the time. As in I let off at say 60mph and the TC lights flash, the bike jerks as if it cant handle the strong regen and cancels it out until 30 mph.
Before I got the work done I could let off at 90 mph and regen would slow me to a stop very quickly.
Anyone have Ideas or thoughts?
Thanks
Joe

the Ribelle didn't reach 100% . would stop always at 96% after that 90%, 88% and back 96 . the ss9 gets to 100% but when I want to ride in the morning it starts from 98% . to day i was riding and at 39% i get the limp msg . I wish it was at 3% . 39% limp mode !

If limp mode activates at 39% SOC, you have a weak cell or weak cell group that hits low voltage cut-off under acceleration.  How hard were you working the throttle when limp mode activated?  The cell group responsible for system keep-alive @ 12V protected by 315mA fuse will not always balance on the first charge cycle after a long storage interval when not using LPR - that's been my experience.

Older firmware will clearly indicate when the pack is not balanced, as in the Ribelle you tested @ 96% after charge is complete.  Forcing another balance session or two or three is all that is required to get the keep-alive cell group back up to balance.  Suggest you try this on the SS9 because me thinks the newer firmware masks this issue.

My bike (now) charges to 100% SOC on every third charge cycle and the only time limp mode has ever activated was @ <10% SOC when the pack was forced to 0% for diagnostic reasons.  Generally, it never dips below 20% SOC when riding.  Firmware version 37.

I have a set of very good condition OZ Racing spoked wheels off of an Energica SS9+ for sale. As an option when you buy the bike, these run about $2000. I no longer have the bike and will be moving at the end of summer, so I'd like to see them go to someone who will use them for what I think is a very reasonable price. These come with the brake rotors, spacers, axles, and chain ring+ bushings.

I currently have an offer from someone on the East Coast to buy these, but would really prefer not to ship them. Happy to meet anywhere in the SF bay area or California in general to sell them.

Please shoot me an email if you want a quick reply.
