Newbie buying a 2012 DS
« on: May 04, 2015, 12:21:41 PM »

Gave the bike a short test ride last week and agreed on a price. Probably picking it up tomorrow.
Is there anything specific I should look at or ask before handing over the money?
The plastic buttons holding the rear fender are broken but I here that won't be the last time!
Forks are twisted a little in the triple clamps but the sliders aren't bent and the head tube is good.
4500 miles. $2500  ;D
Thanks

Good price, the battery alone is still worth more than that.

You can pick the plastic buttons up at most any motorcycle store.  They are apparently used on a lot of Japanese bikes and my multi-brand Japanese dealer had a bowl of them sitting on the counter.  Cheap to buy and easy to break.   ;)

Just make sure that the bike runs smoothly and that the motor doesn't vibrate or shake at times when you are riding it. (The Glitch.)

Thanks for the tips. I forgot to mention that it has the 6kwh battery.
Although my ride was short I did go up & down a hill with twisties and the motor pulled smoothly.
I was in ECO mode at the time.
