Harley Livewire launch creates media op for Zero. Zero CEO handles obnoxious Bloomberg reporter effectively.

I note that Richard Walker did a good job of not answering the question about how many bikes they have sold this year.   ;)

That information is sure hard to come by.

Except that Zero has elsewhere stated 2400 units.

The Bloomberg reporter is both obnoxious AND lazy.

Typical U.S. business media

My recollection is that Zero said that they "projected" this year's sales to be 2400 units.  I would be surprised if they meet that goal.

Wow. Very very nicely done. He keeps coming back to his talking points and extolling the virtues of EV bikes, not letting the anchor pull him off track, courteous, cordial, and positive the whole time. I like the bit about stopping at a stoplight and being able to have a conversation. My girlfriend just the other day commented that it was nice for us to be able to talk to each other while cruising through the neighborhood.

I was surprised though that he didn't mention there's no need for specialized charging equipment, that the Zero charges from a standard household 110vac circuit. That's one of the biggest wow factors I get from people I talk to - they assume that I need a $2,500 charging rig in my garage - and also was one of the biggest selling points for me as it's far more versatile than being tied to the J1772 or CHAdeMO charging networks.

I thank Harley's announcement because it made me look at what else is out there and now I'm here. Honestly I was oblivious to the fact that E bikes even existed. I've been reading reviews, researching everything I can find for the past week. And I keep coming back to Zero. Sold locally. Built locally (I live in California). Price tag is my biggest concern at the moment. 2015 is right around the corner and I would hope they make some more improvements and keep pecking away at the price...

I do 92 miles a day on my 2013 Ninja 300...about 40% canyon, 40% freeway and 20 surface streets...canyon (Soledad) is an option but I rarely pass it up :) Nice way to unwind at the end of the day is 70 mph sweepers through the high desert mountains...

According to this Bike Bandit LiveWire review article, Forbes (see the last paragraph, after looking at the girl first) says that the introduction of the LiveWire has doubled the traffic on Zero's web site.  Like they say, a rising tide lifts all boats:

Hard to beat a Ninja 300 for commuting longer distances. It does freeway speeds very nicely too. I own both a 2014 Ninja 300 and a 2013 Zero S 8.5. I prefer the Zero S for short trips (there's no warm up needed), and performance-wise it has much better acceleration and roll-on than the Ninja 300. It's actually a little lighter and more maneuverable too. There's also a  storage area for drink refills, cell phones, glasses, etc. where the gas tank would be. I use that every trip.

If I could only have one motorcycle, it might be a Ninja 300 since it does it all, but there are a lot of really neat, unique bikes out there now with electric motorcycles topping the list. Don't test ride one or you will be hooked!

Yep that's exactly what the dealer said to one of its customer when I got the firmware recall. I proposed a test ride on mine after the recall was completed and the guy didn't want it! Hehe
