Planning 1st 250mi trip in North/Central CA...
« on: May 31, 2018, 10:41:20 AM »

...and I was hoping to get some advice on two items:

1). I'm totally new to J charging: what's the most versatile/convenient charging network to have between SF and Carmel?

2). Anyone have suggestions for a good place to buddy charge somewhere around Santa Cruz (maybe as far south as Watsonville)?

Thanks in advance!

1. Charge point.

2.  Watsonville has two chargepoint stations at the county government buildings.  Looks like a semacharge is more central.  But Santa Cruz is Terry's neck of the woods and will have first hand use of most of these chargers.  You could drop Terry a line directly, I'm sure he won't mind.  BTW, just check Plug share website or app.

Hope that helps!

On the way from SF to Carmel, I'll be relying on another rider to buddy charge me with a double-J Diginow setup.  On the way back to SF, I'll be charging with my own 6.6kW single-J Diginow (with Tesla and J- input options).  ;D

Heh, sounds like my TBD upcoming trip from San Jose to Carmel for a beta test installation...  My dilemma is whether to ride there at 50MPH with a full-charge start, or strap on the ElCons & take the freeway!

Hold on you two; don't worry your pretty little heads. There's plenty of charging to go around for everyone  ;)

ChargePoint and Plugshare apps should show you pretty much everything you need. There is another that I found recently called GreenLots.
I believe that they are building a bunch of stations across the country but they seem to have a pretty good map showing other chargers
and who runs them. If in Santa Cruz, just take it for a visit back home to the factory

Yes, Brandon sent me a pic of the charging potential last night :)
