The August issue of Motorcycle Sport & Leisure magazine (a UK publication - $12 at Barnes and Noble) contains a long "Test Ride" article of the Zero DSR Black Forest model (better late than never, I guess). The model that they tested had the Charge Tank and not the Power Tank. Nothing new here and in spite of the many words the test seemed sort of superficial to me as a long-time Zero owner.
Needless to say the two main complaints about riding an electric motorcycle were the lack of range and the fact that you might ride up to a charging station and it will not be working, or one might not be available where you would want to ride a dual-sport model with a ton of luggage, like the Black Forest model.
One interesting thing was that they put the Zero DSR on a dyno and measured the "actual power and torque". Zero claims 69hp and 109Nm of torque from the motor. The magazine saw 40bhp and 95Nm on their dyno.
What I wanted to read was something about all of the hard luggage that comes with the Black Forest edition, such as the top box and panniers. How functional are they, what is their capacity, how well made are they and how much do they weigh? A comment about how they affect range when installed and when removed would have been interesting, too. However, not a peep about the luggage in the magazine other than a few photos of the bike with the luggage mounted. :(

You might have better luck then looking for reviews of "Givi" hard luggage in general since that is brand used for that edition.
In USA the Black Forest is brand new, that might be the reason for their "late" review. In Europe it was available early.

That reminds me of the small motorcycles I saw in Vietnam (1969) where every possible inch was used and then some. Entire families on one small motorcycle, a kid or two on the handlebars, etc. It took some real skill and I assume a lot of practice to do some of that stuff.

The luggage used, last I checked, was Givi Dolomiti cases, 36L per side and either the 46L or 30L top case.
The rack appears the same in photos; however, I have seen in person a DSR with a SW-Motech side rack and top rack, unavailable generally. So I'm a little unclear on whether the luggage story is changing or it's a different package.

The DSR Black Forest comes with Givi fog lights. LED ones are 14W each.
