I weighed my 2018 Zero S with PT
« on: October 18, 2018, 04:24:58 AM »

Just for the heck of it, I bought two cheap and thin (1" thick) Chinese electronic bathroom scales on Amazon for $15 each and started weighing all of my motorcycles by rolling them on the scales. If I recall correctly, I believe Zero claims that my 2018 Zero S with Power Tank weighs 452 pounds. When I weighed my bike my scales showed that there was 266 pounds on the front wheel and 203 pounds on the rear wheel, for a total of 469 pounds.  To that you probably have to subtract about 10 pounds for the Zero luggage rack, Zero windshield, a fabric seat bag and a tank bag filled with a few miscellaneous items. So that is pretty close to Zero's numbers, but I was surprised how much weight that Power Tank puts on the front wheel.  :o

I suspected my SR to be front heavy even without a PT. My original front tire was shot before 3,000 miles, while my rear could have gone at least 2 or 3k more. I almost always wear fronts first, but this was the worst ever!
