Online log parser not working? Alternatives?
« on: February 08, 2020, 04:37:37 AM »

Recently had some faults come up and wanted to check the logs, tried using the online parser at http://home.hasslers.net/zerologparser/ like I have in the past but it's not working anymore. I used to and still do get an error saying it failed but I can try downloading the text file anyway (which would work fine) and then it has a link to it, but now when I click on it I just get a 404 page. This makes me think that it's not a problem with the parsing but rather the site itself.

Are there any alternative parsers I can use? Something I could download? I followed the Github link from that site but I don't have a clue what any of that stuff means.

I'll contact the site owner. I've been working on the parser itself lately, trying to support 2019+ logs which are subtly different, and to squash some old bugs, and maybe an error-prone version is up on the site or something.

The site owner says they've had an issue with how the script gets run that's interfering with operation, and he'll try to put up a notice until he can fix it.

You should probably try this alternative next. It runs in the web browser so there's hopefully very little that can go wrong:

The browser-based parser also works roadside on your phone, FYI. I've used it while stranded to diagnose a battery condition (had to know for sure why my vehicle shut down in the rain before I could increase the charge rate - turns out one cell got particularly cold and low voltage).
