the FX makes a great dirt bike that is legal to ride everyday on the road. Just put brand new tires (knobbies) that are 90 dirt/10% road and still street legal.
This Bike as only 883 miles and a few goodies: new tires, hand guard, storage , an helmet (medium) for the street and a Zero Leather Motorcycle jacket XL. I also have a chain kit for conversion from Belt to Chain (Chain not included) with some xtra handle grip. I am selling it as I decided to go a different way (Harley)
Yours for $7,900 OBO. Call Francois at 408-693-5276 or e-mail francoisgauthier@yahoo.com.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / FX in Hollister hills
« on: April 19, 2015, 10:21:01 PM »
Took my FX 5.7 2013  in Hollister hills (California) yesterday. It was a great day. I put some more aggressive tires and they worked out great. I was able to go everywhere (black) and even did Telegraph hills (very step) easily. I keep the 2 batteries in. The bike is little bit heavy that way and bottom out the suspension a few times but still a very enjoyable ride. the FX performed very well for an Intermediate rider. My other dirt bike is a Kawa KLX300 4 strokes. I think I will use the FX most of the time going forward

Also, It was funny, there was a sign on a trail that said Quiet Area . Perfect for the Zero but not so good for the ICE bike from my friend :)

Regards

Francois

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / contact error on FX2013 after washing
« on: February 19, 2015, 07:56:34 AM »
Hi, after a fun day in Hollister with my 2013 FX with new tires, the bikes was really dirty (full of mud). I was careful power washing the bike to make sure I was not aiming at the dash board or electrical components (mostly tires and fenders). it has been 4 days now and I still have blinking lights (both are 4 or 5 rapid flash). I think it is a contact error. I sent the Log to Zero and that was there guess.

Any ideas of what I can try . I hate having to go to the dealer. Other than the flashing lights, the bike seems to be working fine.

Thanks for your help

Francois

PS: did I mentioned that the bike was a blast to ride in  the dirt.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / FX tire pressure and battery placement
« on: February 05, 2014, 09:52:50 PM »
For dirt riding , what tire pressure do you inflate at? For Sand? For very rocky condition? For wet dirt? Thanks for your input.

Also, when ridding with only one battery (to reduce weight), where do you place your battery. In the front or the back of the bike.

Thanks for your input

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Chain or Belt for the FX
« on: September 16, 2013, 11:55:42 PM »
Hi, I in the process of getting a new 2013 FX5.7 and planning to use the bike 75% on trail like in HOV trails  Holister , CA. With a level of difficulty ranging from Blue to Black diamond with lots of loose rocks and some bushed ... Would it make more sense to convert to a chain drive system? Also, Any impact for street riding?

Side Questions,
1. how many hrs of normal riding (not too aggressive) can I expect. I usually ride about 30 miles in 4 hrs or so
2. What can I expect if I use only 1 battery instead of 2 to reduce the weight in terms of power. Could I still climb steep hills?

Thanks for your help. This is a great forum
