is it just me?

i am having trouble interpreting my charging indicators, as they differ from the manual.  attached is a right-side-up pic of my indicators.  the second one down (AC) is solid amber.  the last one (iiiii) is flashing amber.  what does this mean?

On my 2012 S the only indicator that comes on is the AC indicator. I do not see the level indicators come on.

The Delta-Q User Guide (pdf) states that the five level bars are a rough ammeter displaying how much current is flowing, and a flashing indicator for the ammeter bar indicates that output is limited due to high heat.

Is there any way you can verify that the output is being restricted - for example by attaching a Kill-A-Watt or similar power meter? If the location you are charging is hot enough to limit charger output, it's probably also stressing the batteries. On the other hand, if the charger has a temperature sensor which is faulty, it could be erroneously restricting charger output.

I don't even look at those indicators any more, as they tend to bleed over from one indicator to another.  What I now look at now, if I don't have my Kill-A-Watt meter hooked up, are the lights in the clear porthole in the middle of the front panel.  If the blinking lights show just a couple of green dots then there is a way to go before the pack is fully charged.  If all 5 green dots flash from left to right, then the pack is nearing a full charge. It is a lot easier to look at that indicator than to get on your hands and knees in a dark garage to check out the charger indicator lights - which on my bike do light up a little.

well, thanks for the advice and will follow when it returns.  after the pattern persisted for an hour (or more, perhaps), it went to solid-amber ac, solid-green "100% charge".

Yeah, my indicator is upside down, too.  And it always seems to be indicating either full current or fully charged -- it never seems to ramp down as the manual claims it should.

My inverter for the solar battery bank has a power meter; that also seems to indicate about 1kw constant charging power until it shuts down to near zero.

Interesting, the flashing LEDs in the window always seem to indicate that charging is complete BEFORE the amber LEDs on the QuiQ charging unit do (and before the charging power draw actually drops according to my inverter)

When the pack is low it will draw 700 watts.  When full about 960 watts.

The flashing number IIIIII light is over heated, the flashing power indicator is low voltage.  The flashing green is when the battery pack reaches 73.5 volts.  And solid at 74.7v.

The delta Q is mounted upside down under the battery pack.

I have never seen my charger ramp down either.  It only stays on 6.

The Charger is a standard charger with a lot of different algorithms, we use the algorithms ID 123.(it is "easy" possible to change settings; I hope it will never do it by surprise :()

As much as I see the charger is current limited and at the end voltage limited.

So if the battery draw current the charger will not ramp down. And the battery will draw current (till they blow up).

If you use a different charger algorithms it will use charging curves and the ramp down "display/Ammeter" make sense.

So I believe your charger works correct.

I've seen the charger at 5 bars ( IIIII ) once on the XU. It didn't change for the duration that I observed it (about 5 minutes while in the garage doing other stuff). Otherwise it's always "offthegrid" stated, no ramp-downs, but I don't stare at it for the entire charging cycle.
