2016 French electric motorcycle sales figures
« on: January 29, 2017, 05:38:35 AM »

Here are the 2016 French electric motorcycle sales figures.  It looks like Zero is doing quite well in France:

Funny that they didn't show or have scooter sales yet. The BMW C-EVO probably still outsold Zero but it'd be interesting to see how much: http://cleanrider.com/2015-sales-of-electric-motorcycles-and-scooters-in-france/

Perhaps the agency in France that counts scooters hasn't finished counting yet.  ;) I am pretty sure that electric scooters likely outsold electric motorcycles, if only because most scooters are less expensive and more popular for getting around congested cities.   ???

Sales in France:

ZERO MOTORCYCLES: '16 104 ; '15 38 ; '14 45

BMW C-EVO: '16 503 ; '15 409 ; '14 227

source: http://www.csiam-fr.org/  (the association of not-french vehicles importers to France, cars, trucks, busses, motorbikes)

As you can see, the C-EVO is about 5 times more sold than Zeros, at roughly the same price tag.

The "funny thing" is, France is the most important market for the C-EVO, sales being even greater than in Germany.

Since 1st Jan 2017 there is a 1k€ incentive on electric motorbikes which will certainly boost the sales of ZERO.... and C-EVO!

Another reason why ZERO improved considerably their sales in 2016 is the introduction of the 2 models (FXS and S) enabling car driving license to ride without the pricy and difficult moto license (continuous 11KW/ top speed 130Km/h). Equivalent 125cc, but like the C EVO, much much more torque than any 125cc!
