Title: Metal body panels
Post by: Agsurf5 on November 14, 2020, 05:40:35 AM
I am working on doing a custom build of a Zero FX.
I am using metal for the “tank cover” panels.

Is that bad idea from an electric perspective? I am afraid of the risk of getting shocked or creating shorts. There are quite a few cable there, and also the metal touches the frame directly.

Shouldn't be an issue, as long as it cannot tear into anything or short anything out.

Make sure there's something to cover the battery lugs, you don't want the body to be able to be punched in against them in a collision.  But aside from that... I don't know of any other hazards.
