It seems like many auto manufacturers and EV charging stations are adopting the Tesla designed NACS port over the J1772. I have a DSR/X and I’ve also purchased an adapter that lets me charge it with my Tesla wall charger. Would be cool to have a retrofit for the bike to have a NACS port. Perhaps the 2024 models will be equipped with it?

I have a Tesla Wall charger at home (240V, 48A, on a 60A 240V circuit). I bought a Tesla -> J1772 adapter on Amazon (XINTOU, 240V, 60A). I plugged it into the bike (about 50% SOC) and everything seems to charge fine. But noticed on the dashboard, it said 66A and 6.9KW. 6900 / 120V = 57.5A and 6900 / 240V = 28.8A. So I don't really understand where the numbers come from. I felt the adapter / cable after 2hrs of charging and it was barely warm. No errors and battery was at 100%.

My primary concern is that the adapter stated it's a max of 60A/240V, which is 14kW of power. Do you think that there's an issue there with what the bike stated and overwhelming the adapter? Thanks!

I'm really enjoying my DSR/X. I had a 2016 SR and the changes are pretty substantial. Definitely a larger, more solid ride. Love the dashboard. And the fact you can quick charge with a J1772 plug. My dealer (San Jose BMW) says there's a tall (1" higher) seat available for us tall guys (6'4"). I also ordered the top case.

Hi,
I'm considering replacing my 2016 SR with a 2023 DSR/X (nice incentives until 7/15 in the USA). I can't seem to get a clear answer about how to charge at home. I know there's a J1772 port on the tank. And that it can be charged on 120V home current. But I also have a 240V NEMA 14-50 in my garage. Is there a direct plug option from the 240V? Or do I need a charger converter? Better yet, is there a Tesla -> J1772 adapter as I have a Tesla wall charger too? Thanks!

Update: It looks like there is a Lectron charge adapter from Tesla to J1772 on Amazon and someone reported that it worked with their Zero motorcycle in 2021.

I had a flat tire and remove my 2016 SR's rear wheel. I did NOT take any photos of the wheel before disassembling. I don't believe that I lost any parts but the unofficial manual makes a statement about some spacers on the wheel. I think I only have one and I put it on the belt side. After reassembling, belt tensioning, and torquing the nut, it seems like there are a few too many threads visible -- like I'm missing a spacer.

Does anyone have a schematic or parts list for the rear axle assembly?

I also replaced the tires on my 2013 with the Michelin Pilot Street Radials (110/70-17 F, 130/70-17 R). Traction and stability improved, but I think that they're a little heavier.

I'm a total fair-weather rider in the SF Bay Area, so I'm not sure how they work in rain / snow.

I'm 6'4" and about 205lbs. I'm pretty comfortable on my 2013 S with respect to arm and leg fitment, although the seat padding is firm.

My rear RoadWinner tire quit on me (less than 4k miles) so I purchased some replacement tires (Michelin Pilot Street) for front and back.

I was able to remove the rear wheel, have the tire swapped, and re-install it without too much trouble.

But I don't think that I can figure out what to even loosen on the front to remove the wheel. It's annoying that this routine maintenance task isn't in the owner's manual.

Can someone tell me, point me to another thread, or send me a guide on how to remove and re-install the front wheel?

I inadvertently entered into the "configuration" mode of my 2013 S (fat fingered trying to reset trip ODO).

I hit the wrong button and incremented the value on the first page. And then did the same on the second page. Doh!

Can anyone tell me what the numbers should be for the factory settings? Or, better yet, what the heck to the numbers mean? I'm guessing it calibrates the speedometer readings because it was definitely way off on my ride today.

Hi,
My bike is telling me: 146 watt hours per mile. I believe that this number was lower before I installed the windscreen, but I don't recall for sure.

I'm curious to hear what other people are experiencing.

Hi,
Often, when I'm charging my bike, I launch the Zero iOS app to check the batter information. However, when I launch (after ensuring that Bluetooth is connected), the screens read "0" for all fields.

Is there a process for trying to get the app to (re-)connect to the bike? I've tried force-quit and re-launching but that doesn't always work.

I'd also like to state that some of the text is REALLY hard to read for old eyes :-)
