Title: SDS platform fastener replacement?
Post by: Crissa on April 10, 2021, 04:48:28 AM
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to replace the wood screws in the plastics?  They're really a bother.  I know they're cheap, but some of mine don't even fit in right, and I really hate the idea of screwing into the plastic every time I need to fix the lights.

I know some other bikes use different quick fasteners but I don't know anything about them or if they would work for this.

Wood screws ,. Maybe thread forming.  This sort of fastner turn backwards gently until it drops in thread.  People use string trimmer line or zip tie pieces to make up for damage.  Stihl, Makita  use that sort of fastner.   Put a picture.  Obviously it was a choice not to have brass threaded pieces formed in.

I was wondering why you often need to fix the lights?

I've taken it apart three times, the dealer has taken it apart twice...

...And I want to customize the lights more.
