Title: Zero SR and the Harley Davidson Live Wire
Post by: trekguy on August 05, 2014, 06:08:35 PM
This months Cycle World was able to ride a prototype HD Live Wire electric, and made a couple references to the SR they quick tested last month. In a nutshell, they felt the HD rode more like a motorcycle and was slightly quicker off the line. Top speed electronically limited to 95 mph. Fit and finish was superb. High quality tires and components. BUT, no price range was given, nor the all-important range capability. And who knows when and if they will manufacture it.

Good to see more electrics getting ready for prime time.

I think the Harley has created a lot of buzz about electric motorcycles that will help the industry as a whole. Plus, they are not in production so they are not direct competition at this time.

Its almost guaranteed that Harley will have less range for more money. But having that huge dealership network would be nice...
