Title: Less Pregnant
Post by: Naked on July 24, 2019, 03:25:54 AM
In an effort to reduce the pregnant/gobbler look I am considering trimming the plastic piece as was done on the Pikes Peak SR/F.
Any thoughts on whether exposing the controller heatsink poses any real risk?

Other than rocks or debris hitting it, I'd imagine it would only benefit from more air cooling but that's all just a guess. I got to watch Cory start his race from the pits this year and everyone seemed to root for EVs. That bike with his siren was badass.

...That bike with his siren was badass.
o/t but will elaborate for anyone not familiar the EV sirens required for event insurance rules have previously been a cheap car alarm;  this siren was playing (with permission) a loop of some hard rock guitar riff... can be heard in the full video posted at YouTube and explained in the comments section

Go on, continue..,.  ;D

Some photos I took of his bike in the pits this year.  8)

One "less pregnant" design change would be the bulbous tank for me, but that would be a lot more involved than worth the hassle. With a rider on the seat, the bike looks a lot more proportionate in my opinion.

Great pics!

Agreed, that is a custom tank on Cory's bike. I'm sure somebody smarter than me could fabricate a less bulbous version.
