At temperatures above 65°f, I'm out.

Given that it's completely open on the sides and back I don't think heat would be an issue, particularly if the overhead "windows" have reflective film applied to them.

It would probably be highly aerodynamic, maximizing range and top speed.

This is a design concept from 2012: http://www.philpauley.com/crossbow.php (http://www.philpauley.com/crossbow.php)

There are a lot of safety problems with the idea; you wouldn't want to break your neck or skull getting rear-ended, say, by flying into the screen.

I am attracted to having an aircraft canopy as part of an aerodynamic design; it'd just need to very very easily be something that one flew around rather than into in the event of a collision.

Concepts like that have been tried before (such as BMW's C-1 scooter of the early 2000's). It works - but it just doesn't sell.   ::)

As an added bonus, your tuxedo will still be completely dry when you pull ashore at the beach in your one-man submarine.

I went looking for a gif of a James Bond dismount of a jetski, but found this instead, which I think is better.

This riding position is interesting ...

It looks like my knees would be burred into my chest as I lay across a "tank" and then fully extend my arms just to reach the handlebars. 0__0

But all of that is OK because it looks cool ;)

Agreed. These cosplayers need to go back to Mom's basement.
